BC Kyiv
BC Kyiv ( uk, БК "Київ") was a Ukrainian professional basketball club based in Kyiv. The club's home court for Ukrainian domestic league matches was the Meridian Sports Complex, which has a seating capacity of 1,500. Large attendance games and European-wide competition games were held at the 7,000 seat Kyiv Sports Palace. History The club was founded in 1999. Kyiv won the Ukrainian SuperLeague in 2000 and 2005, and also reached the FIBA EuroCup final in 2005. Ukrainian Basketball Super League
The Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague (USL) ( uk, Українська баскетбольна суперліга) is the first-tier level of professional basketball league in Ukraine. Established in 1992, the league is currently contested by 10 clubs. It is a tier above the Ukrainian Higher League and allows for one season from the Higher League each season to be promoted. The league exists out of a regular season, in which team play for playoff-seeding, followed by playoffs to determine the Ukrainian champion. BC Budivelnyk, Budivelnyk is the most successful team in league history with 10 titles. 2013–14 EuroChallenge
The 2013–14 EuroChallenge was the 11th edition of Europe's third-tier level transnational competition for men's professional basketball clubs. The winner and the runner-up of this competition earned a place at the group stage of the 2014–15 Eurocup season. The Final Four was held in PalaDozza in Bologna, Italy. The host of the tournament, Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia won the Final by beating Triumph Lyubertsy 79–65. Italian player Andrea Cinciarini received the Final Four MVP award. Competition format changes This year's EuroChallenge saw a number of innovations, including the division of the participating clubs into two main Conferences for the Regular Season - Conference 1 and Conference 2 - based on a broad geographical criteria. Rimas Kurtinaitis (born May 15, 1960) is a Lithuanian professional basketball coach, and a retired professional basketball player, who was a member of the senior Soviet and Lithuanian national basketball teams during his playing career. He won a gold medal at 1988 Olympics in South Korea. He recently worked as the head coach for Khimki. At a height of 1.96 m (6'5") tall, during his playing career, he played at the shooting guard position. Giannis Giannoulis (alternate spellings: Gioannis, Yannis, Ioannis, Yiannis (Greek: Γιάννης Γιαννούλης; born June 5, 1976) is a Greek-Canadian former professional basketball player. Ratko Varda ( sr-cyr, Ратко Варда; born May 6, 1979) is a Serbian-Bosnian former basketball player who played professionally for 22 years. Standing at , he played the center position. He first represented FR Yugoslavia/Serbia and Montenegro junior national team, and later represented Bosnia and Herzegovina national basketball team internationally. Marcelo Patricio Nicola Virginio (born May 12, 1971) is an Argentine-Italian former professional basketball player and a current coach. A very versatile power forward, he was a regular member of the Argentine national basketball team, and competed many years in the EuroLeague.
