BC Espoir Fukash
BC Espoir Fukash is a Congolese basketball team based in Kinshasa. The team plays in the Liprobakin, Kinshasa's premier basketball league. The team has won the Kinshasa title one time in 2021, and have won the Congolese Cup in 2021. Espoir Fukash played in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) during the 2022 season History Created in 2019, Espoir reached the final of the Ligue Provinciale de Kinshasa for the first time in 2020. However, the team lost to BC Terreur. The following season, the team won their first regional championship. In October 2021, Espoir Fukash won the Congolese Cup, their first national trophy in club history. As such, they qualified for the 2022 BAL Qualifying Tournaments. They won their first international game, on 30 October 2021, over Tondema with 102–49. On December 15, Espoir qualified for the 2022 BAL season after eliminating Mali's AS Police in the semi-finals, winning after overtime. Liprobakin
The Ligue Provinciale de Basketball de Kinshasa (''in English: Kinshasa Provincial Basketball League''), better known as the Liprobakin, is an annual basketball competition for teams in Kinshasa, the capital of Democratic Republic of the Congo. The top two teams qualify for each season of the Coupe du Congo (basketball), Coupe du Congo, where the Kinshasa teams meet teams from other regions of the country. AS Police (basketball, Mali)
Association Sportive Police, commonly known as AS Police, is a basketball club based in Bamako, Mali. The team plays in the Ligue 1. The roster mainly consists of civilians from N'Tomikorobougou, a neighborhood in Bamako, and police officers. The team has known recent success, winning the national championship in 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021. The Police have also won five Malian Cups and were one of the twelve teams that played in the inaugural season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) in 2021. History In 2019, Police won its second Malian national championship. Under head coach Moussa Sogoré, the team went unbeaten (9–0) on its way to its maiden title. Cape Town Tigers is a South African basketball club based in Cape Town. The team is located in the Gugulethu township. Established in 2019 by three American business partners, the club has won the South African national championship in 2021 and 2022. Emmanuel Mavomo
Emmanuel Mavomo (born 21 September 1980) is a Congolese professional basketball coach who is a current assistant coach for the Austin Spurs of the NBA G League. He has been an assistant coach for several club and national teams, in Africa, Europe and the United States. Early life Born in Kinshasa, Mavomo was initially interested in football but switched to basketball after watching the United States' 1992 "Dream Team" play at the Olympics. Due to political unrest in his native country, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mavomo moved to South Africa. There, he lived in Cape Town and studied at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, where he played for the university team. Mavomo also worked to pay for his studies. After moving to Johannesburg, Mavomo began working in marketing and later worked for the Basketball Without Borders initiative. The Nile Conference of the 2022 BAL season began on 9 April 2022 and ended on 19 April 2022. In a group of six teams, all teams played each other one time. The qualification tournaments for the 2022 BAL season were the qualification rounds for the second season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The tournaments began on 19 October 2021 and ended 16 December 2021. The competition consisted out of two stages: the first round and the elite 16. Six teams advanced to the group phase of the BAL. Basket Club Terreur (in English: Terror Basketball Club) is a Congolese basketball club based in Kinshasa. Founded in 1963, they play in the Liprobakin of Kinshasa. The team made its debut in the Africa Basketball League in the 2018–19 Africa Basketball League, 2018–19 season. Terreur lost all three games, finishing last in the group.
