Markus Wolfgang Büchler (born ) is a German surgeon and university full professor. He specialises in gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary and transplant surgery, and is especially known for pioneering operations on the pancreas. in Sasbach in 1974. Markus W. Büchler is married to Hedwig Maria Breunig-Büchler and has four children. Medical and scientific career From 1974 to 1979, Büchler studied medicine at the Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg. Subsequently, he trained in general and cardiovascular surgery at the Free University of Berlin in 1979/80, where, upon completion of the training in 1980, he obtained the medical license. In the same year he defended his doctoral thesis and received the Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Heidelberg. Adolf Büchler
Adolf Büchler (also Adolph) (18 October 1867 in Priekopa, Hungary (now Slovakia) – 1939) was an Austro-Hungarian rabbi, historian and theologian. Biography In 1887, he began his theological studies at the Rabbinical Seminary of Budapest, and at the same time studied in the Department of Philosophy of the university under Ignác Goldziher and Moritz Kármán. Büchler continued his studies at the Breslau Seminary and in 1890 graduated ''with a PhD'' from Leipzig University, his dissertation being ''Zur Entstehung der Hebräischen Accente'', which was later published in the ''Sitzungsberichte der Wiener Akademie der Wissenschaften'' of 1891. Büchler returned to Budapest to finish his theological studies and graduated as a rabbi in 1892. Heinrich Bichler (also ''Hans Bichler'', ''Heinrich Büchler'' or ''Hans Büchler''; 1466–1497) was a Swiss painter. Alexander Büchler (, ; 24 September 1869 in Fülek (Fiľakovo), Kingdom of Hungary – July 1944 in Auschwitz) was a Hungarian rabbi and educator. He is a son of the Talmudist rabbi Phineas Büchler of Mór. He was educated at the gymnasium in Székesfehérvár and at the university and the seminary of Budapest; he received the degree of Ph.D. in 1893, and was ordained as rabbi in 1895. In 1897 he was called to Keszthely.
