Börsborn
Börsborn is an ''Ortsgemeinde'' – a municipality belonging to a ''Verbandsgemeinde'', a kind of collective municipality – in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It belongs to the ''Verbandsgemeinde'' of Oberes Glantal. The more than 500-year-old ''Muhleiche'', an oak tree in the village's north end by the road going towards Steinbach am Glan and the belltower endowed by Countess Marianne von der Leyen in 1788-1789 are the village's main landmarks. Geography Location Börsborn lies on the southeast slope of the 400 m-high Steinberg some 300 to 340 m above sea level in the Western Palatinate. The western part of the municipality reaches an elevation of some 275 m above sea level. Rising both west and east of the village are small brooks that then flow south or east for only a few kilometres before emptying into the Glan. Steinbach am Glan ( pfl, Schdääbach) is an ''Ortsgemeinde'' – a municipality belonging to a ''Verbandsgemeinde'', a kind of collective municipality – in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It belongs to the ''Verbandsgemeinde'' Oberes Glantal. Geography Location The municipality lies about 35 km west of Kaiserslautern on both sides of the Steinbach, which rises in the village's west end and then flows about one kilometre down to the Hodenbach, where the two streams together become the Henschbach. The constituent community of Steinbach lies on the brook's right bank and the constituent community of Frutzweiler on the left. Steinbach therefore does not lie right on the Glan, which makes its name suffix “am Glan” a bit misleading. It actually lies some 7 km upstream from where the local river empties into the Glan. Gries () is an ''Ortsgemeinde'' – a municipality belonging to a ''Verbandsgemeinde'', a kind of collective municipality – in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It belongs to the ''Verbandsgemeinde'' of Oberes Glantal, whose seat is in Schönenberg-Kübelberg. Geography Location The municipality lies at the edge of the North Palatine Uplands (part of the Saar-Nahe Uplands), on the south slope of the 314 m-high Schlossberg, which has an outstanding view, in the Western Palatinate. To the south lies the Ohmbach valley with its 10-18 ha Ohmbach Reservoir, and to the east, the river Glan has carved a prominent bend into the uplands. Glan-Münchweiler is an '' Ortsgemeinde'' – a municipality belonging to a ''Verbandsgemeinde'', a kind of collective municipality – in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It belongs to the ''Verbandsgemeinde'' of Oberes Glantal. Geography Location The municipality lies in a hollow in the Glan valley in the uplands in the Western Palatinate, with peaks such as the Galgenberg, the Klopfberg, the Eckertsberg and the Wingertsberg. On the Glan’s right bank, at the foot of the Hochwald (“High Forest”) lies the outlying centre of Bettenhausen. The bottom of the dale has an elevation of 215 m above sea level. Oberes Glantal ("upper valley of the Glan") is a ''Verbandsgemeinde'' ("collective municipality") in the district of Kusel, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Kusel (district)
Kusel () is a district (''Kreis'') in the south of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from north-west clockwise) Birkenfeld, Bad Kreuznach, Donnersbergkreis, Kaiserslautern, Saarpfalz and Sankt Wendel (the last two belonging to the state of Saarland). History The district of Kusel was created at the beginning of the 19th century. In 1939 it was renamed as ''Landkreis Kusel''. The boundary was altered slightly as part of the communal reform of 1969/72 with some parts of the district of Birkenfeld being added to Kusel. Henschtal
Henschtal is an ''Ortsgemeinde'' – a municipality belonging to a ''Verbandsgemeinde'', a kind of collective municipality – in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It belongs to the ''Verbandsgemeinde'' of Oberes Glantal. Geography Location Henschtal lies on both sides of its namesake brook, the Henschbach, formed by two smaller streams called the Steinbach and the Hodenbach, which flows right through Henschtal and thence down to the Glan, meeting it upstream from Rehweiler.
