Bärenreiter Verlag
Bärenreiter (Bärenreiter-Verlag) is a German classical music publishing house based in Kassel. The firm was founded by Karl Vötterle (1903–1975) in Augsburg in 1923, and moved to Kassel in 1927, where it still has its headquarters; it also has offices in Basel, London, New York and Prague. The company is currently managed by Barbara Scheuch-Vötterle and Leonhard Scheuch. Since 1951, the company's focus has been on the New Complete Editions series for various composers. These are urtext editions, and cover the entire work of the selected composer. Series include: J. S. Karl Vötterle
Karl Vötterle (12 April 1903 – 29 October 1975) was a German music publisher. Life Vötterle was born in Augsburg. With the intention of printing song sheets for the members of the musical youth movement, he founded the Bärenreiter-Verlag in Augsburg in 1923 (since 1927 in Kassel), which he made into one of the major music publishers worldwide. The rediscovery of Heinrich Schütz was decisive for the success of the publishing house in the first years. With the publication of the Quempas in 1930 he again stimulated new advent and Christmas musical singing customs. In Munich he became involved in the youth movement reformed ''Hochschulgilde Werdandi''. The association magazine ''Der deutsche Bursch'' of the appeared about this contact in the youth movement-oriented Bärenreiter publishing house. The ''Neue Mozart-Ausgabe'' (''NMA''; English: ''New Mozart Edition'') is the second complete works edition of the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Mass is an intrinsic property of a body. It was traditionally believed to be related to the quantity of matter in a physical body, until the discovery of the atom and particle physics. It was found that different atoms and different elementary particles, theoretically with the same amount of matter, have nonetheless different masses. Mass in modern physics has multiple definitions which are conceptually distinct, but physically equivalent. Mass can be experimentally defined as a measure of the body's inertia, meaning the resistance to acceleration (change of velocity) when a net force is applied.
