Alice Balint
Alice Balint (born Alice Székely-Kovács; 18981939) was a Hungarian psychoanalyst. Early life Balint's mother, Vilma Kovács, had also been a psychoanalyst. Balint was also a childhood friend of Margaret Mahler. She married Michael Balint, also a psychoanalyst, in 1920. The two soon moved from Hungary to Berlin. However, they returned to Budapest in 1924, and lived at No.12 Mészáros Street, five floors above the Hungarian Psychoanalytical Society's Polyclinic, which opened in 1931. Career Balint wrote the book ''The Psychoanalysis of the Nursery'', which was first published in Hungarian in 1931, and later in German, Spanish, and French. Balint planned to translate it into English herself, but died before being able to. It was published in English in 1953. Becca Balint
Rebecca A. "Becca" Balint (born May 4, 1968) is an American politician who is a member of the United States House of Representatives from Vermont's at-large congressional district as a member of the Democratic Party. She served as a member of the Vermont Senate from Windham County from 2015 to 2023, as majority leader from 2017 to 2021, and as president pro tempore from 2021 to 2023. Balint was born in Heidelberg, West Germany, and raised in Peekskill, New York. She was educated at Walter Panas High School, Smith College, Harvard University, and University of Massachusetts Amherst. Balinț
Balinț ( hu, Bálinc; german: Balintz) is a commune in Timiș County, Romania. It is composed of four villages: Balinț, Bodo ( hu, Nagybodófalva), Fădimac ( hu, Fagymag) and Târgoviște ( hu, Vásáros). It borders Bara to the north, Coșteiu to the south, Belinț and Ghizela to the west and Bethausen to the east. History Since the 10th–11th centuries, there have been numerous floods on the middle course of the Bega River. Balinț, being located 500 meters from the Bega riverbed, was periodically flooded. In the 11th century, some of the villagers moved to a hearth protected from floods. A new village appears, derived from the first, ''Balințul de Sus'' (Upper Balinț), located in the Church valley, and ''Balințul de Jos'' (Lower Balinț) remains on the old hearth. Bálint Virág (born 1973) is a Hungarian mathematician working in Canada, known for his work in probability theory, particularly determinantal processes, random matrix theory, and random walks and other probabilistic questions on groups. He received his Ph.D. from U.C. Berkeley in 2000, under the direction of Yuval Peres, and was a post-doc at MIT. Since 2003 he has been a Canada research chair at the University of Toronto. Virág was awarded a Sloan Fellowship (2004), the Rollo Davidson Prize (2008), the Coxeter–James Prize (2010), and the John L. Synge Award (2014). Bálint Máté Vécsei (born 13 July 1993) is a Hungarian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Ferencváros. Club career He started playing football at the Kazinczy Ferenc elementary school in Kazincbarcika. Balint Vázsonyi (7 March 193617 January 2003) was a Hungarian-born naturalized American pianist, educator, international recitalist/soloist with leading orchestras, and political activist and journalist. He made performance history in playing chronological cycles of all 32 piano sonatas by Beethoven over two days in New York, Boston, and London. During the last six years of his life, he became a commentator in Washington, D.C., on the state of American politics. Bálint Hóman
Bálint Hóman (29 December 1885 – 2 June 1951) was a Hungarian scholar and politician who served as Minister of Religion and Education twice: between 1932–1938 and between 1939–1942. He died in prison in 1951 for his support of the fascistic invasion of the Soviet Union and antisemitic legislation activity as part of the Axis alliance in World War II.
