Báhoň
Báhoň ( hu, Báhony) is a village and municipality in western Slovakia in Pezinok District in the Bratislava Region. The village of roughly 1,650 people is located next to Kaplná, east of Pezinok and south-west of Trnava. History The first written reference to the town comes from 1244. However, it is assumed that for the three hundred years before that Báhoň was owned by the Hungarian kings, attached to the Bratislava Castle estate. In the middle of the 16th century the town has experienced an influx of German colonists, who soon became dominant. Their dominance was defused half a century later when Croatian colonists moved in. The town became fully Slovak after the 1918 founding of Czechoslovakia. In 1580, the ruling Jazernický family built a mansion, which was expanded and rebuilt in 1759-1765. Igram ( hu, Igrám) is a village and municipality in western Slovakia in Senec District in the Bratislava Region. It is located northeast of Senec, between the villages of Kaplna and Čataj. Currently, the village has around 550 inhabitants. History The first written reference to the town was made in 1244. Hungarian king Béla IV mentioned the village, under the name Igrech, in a document in which he established a new church district. The name, which is said to have been derived from "Igrici", is an old Slavic word for musicians, had gone through several changes until it stabilized at its current form as Igram. Kaplna
Kaplna ( hu, Erzsébetkápolna) is a village and municipality in western Slovakia in Senec District in the Bratislava Region. It is located about ten kilometres (6.25 miles) north-east of Senec on a road connecting Senec with Trnava. History Archaeological digs show that the area around Kaplna was first settled around 5000 BC. The first written reference to the village comes from a document signed by the Hungarian king Bela IV in 1244 AD as "Capulna". The name of the village was derived from a unique wo-tower Catholic church built in Romanesque architecture sometimes in the first half of the eleventh century. The church walls were not plastered, showing its bright red bricks. Later, the church was rebuilt in early Gothic style, and after a 1634 fire it has been rebuilt with only one tower.
