Byåsen HE
Byåsen Håndball Elite is the women's handball team of the Norwegian multi-sports club Byåsen IL based in Trondheim. The team plays in Eliteserien, the top division in the country, since its promotion in 1982. The team's first success came as a third division club, when in 1980 it won the silver medal in the national cup. Among its successes are four domestic league and four domestic cup titles, and the club also has a good reputation in the continental arena, having reached the latest stage of the European cup competitions, including the EHF Cup Winners' Cup final in 2007. Trondheim Spektrum
Trondheim Spektrum (formerly Nidarøhallen) is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Trondheim, Norway. It is located on the peninsula of Øya next to the Nidelven river. It is the home arena for women's handball team Byåsen HE. A new arena was completed in 2019 and replaced the largest multi-use hall in the same location. The eight former halls originally went by the name Nidarøhallen. Next to the halls is the athletics facility Øya stadion and the Trondhjems Tennis Club (TTK) with four outdoor clay courts and indoor tennis hall. History Old building The original halls were built in three stages. Halls A and B were designed by architects Pran & Torgersen and were opened in 1963. Further halls was added in 1971 (hall C) and 1980 (hall G), this was followed by stage 3 (halls D and E/H) in 1988 which was designed by Lien & Risan architectural office. Kari Aalvik Grimsbø
Kari Aalvik Grimsbø (born 4 January 1985) is a former Norwegian handball player who last played for Győri ETO KC and the Norwegian national team. Since her retirement she is the goalkeeping coach at Byåsen HE. Career Aalvik Grimsbø played her first match for the senior national team in September 2005 against Portugal. Previously she had played for Norway in the junior European and World Championships. Before she joined Byåsen, she played for the clubs Orkdal and Børsa/Skaun. She joined to Győri ETO in January 2015, she signed a contract for 2 and a half years. As she stated about the contract: "It is a great opportunity for me, and when such an opportunity arises, it is hard to say no. It’s a dream coming true."
