' Byrne (also O'Byrne) is an Irish surname. It is derived from the Gaelic ''Ó Broin'' or ''Ó Beirn''. Goidelic Languages
The Goidelic or Gaelic languages ( ga, teangacha Gaelacha; gd, cànanan Goidhealach; gv, çhengaghyn Gaelgagh) form one of the two groups of Insular Celtic languages, the other being the Brittonic languages. Goidelic languages historically formed a dialect continuum stretching from Ireland through the Isle of Man to Scotland. Bryan Byrne (footballer)
Bryan Byrne (born 26 August 1982) is an Irish former professional footballer. He played in Europe and the United States. Early life and education Byrne was born on 26 August 1982, in Kilkenny, Ireland, and was raised in Castledermot. He started his career at local club Castle Villa A.F.C., where he played from U-10's through U-18's. Byrne was signed by Dermot Keely to play senior level soccer for Kildare County F.C. for the 2002–03 season. Byrne's stay was short, as Keely's son, Alan Keely, was returning from playing college soccer in Santa Barbara and Dermot recommended Byrne as a player to target. Damien Byrne
Damien Byrne (born 6 April 1954 in Dublin) is an Irish former professional football player. In a career spanning 20 seasons, Byrne won player of the year awards in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, the only man to do so. He started his career as a forward but midway through his career switched to centre back. His son Phil Byrne currently plays for Carrick Rangers in the IFA Premiership. Career Byrne played schoolboy football for Home Farm and made his League of Ireland debut on 12 October 1973 for that club against St Patrick's Athletic. Condon Byrne
Condon Bryan Byrne (25 May 1910 – 25 November 1993), Australian politician, was a Senator for the Australian Labor Party and later the Democratic Labor Party. Prior to entering politics he was private secretary to Vince Gair who was then Premier of Queensland. Initially elected to the Senate for the ALP in 1951, he joined much of the Queensland ALP who split with the party to form the Queensland Labor Party (QLP – later to merge with the Democratic Labor Party DLP) in 1957. He was a barrister by profession. He never married. Losing his seat in 1958, he remained active in the Democratic Labor Party and won a Queensland senate seat in the 1967 Senate Election. Conan Byrne (born 10 July 1985) is a retired Irish footballer who last played for NIFL Premiership club Glenavon, having spent six seasons with St Patrick's Athletic, three seasons with Sporting Fingal, three seasons with Shelbourne and three seasons with UCD, the club where he started his career.
