''Byomkesh O Agniban'' (2017) is a Bengali language, Bengali Detective thriller film directed by Anjan Dutt and produced by Kaustav Roy & Ashok Dhanuka. The movie features Jisshu Sengupta as the sleuth Byomkesh Bakshi. This is based on compilation of the stories ''Agniban'' and ''Upasanghar'' written by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. This is the sixth installment of ''Byomkesh Bakshi in other media#Bengali films, Byomkesh series'' by Anjan Dutt, serving as a sequel to ''Byomkesh O Chiriyakhana''. Plot The movie merged two stories of Sharadundu Bandopadhyay named ''Agnibaan'' and ''Uposonghar''. The film starts with the hint of another story ''Satyanweshi'' where young Byomkesh caught the head of a cocaine racket who is now seeking revenge. On the other hand, a young girl dies in mysterious condition having a match stick in her hand. One Kokonad Gupta, who claims to be a fan of Byomkesh gifts him a matchbox. Anjan Dutt
Anjan Dutt (Bengali: অঞ্জন দত্ত) is an Indian film director, actor, and singer-songwriter known for his work in the Bengali alternative music genre ''anyodharar gaan''. As an actor, Dutt began his career in Bengali cinema in the Mrinal Sen film ''Chalachitro'', for which he won the best newcomer actor award at the Venice Film Festival. He acted in Aparna Sen's hit film, '' Mr. and Mrs. Iyer''. In 2018 he featured in Swapnasandhani's new play ''Taraye Taraye'', as Vincent van Gogh, under the direction of Kaushik Sen. He is also a national award-winning filmmaker and is one of the most prominent directors of Bengali cinema, directing ''Dutta Vs Dutta'', ''Madly Bangalee'', '' The Bong Connection'', ''Chalo Let's Go'', and ''Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbona''.
