Bye Bye Bird
"Bye Bye Bird" is a harmonica-driven blues song written by Willie Dixon and Sonny Boy Williamson II. In 1963, Checker Records issued it as the B-side of Williamson's single " Help Me", which was his last single to reach the record charts. The song was recorded on January 11, 1963, by Williamson on vocal and harmonica, backed by Lafayette Leake or Billy Emerson on organ, Matt Murphy on guitar, Milton Rector on bass, and Al Duncan on drums. "Bye Bye Bird" is included on several Sonny Boy Williamson compilation albums, such as ''More Real Folk Blues'' (1967) and '' His Best'' (1997). Sonny Boy Williamson II
Alex or Aleck Miller (originally Ford, possibly December 5, 1912 – May 24, 1965), known later in his career as Sonny Boy Williamson, was an American blues harmonica player, singer and songwriter. He was an early and influential blues harp stylist who recorded successfully in the 1950s and 1960s. Miller used various names, including Rice Miller and Little Boy Blue, before calling himself Sonny Boy Williamson, which was also the name of a popular Chicago blues singer and harmonica player. To distinguish the two, Miller has been referred to as Sonny Boy Williamson II. He first recorded with Elmore James on "Dust My Broom". Some of his popular songs include " Don't Start Me Talkin'", " Help Me", "Checkin' Up on My Baby", and " Bring It On Home". The Magnificent Moodies
''The Magnificent Moodies'' is the 1965 debut album by The Moody Blues, first released in the UK, and the first and only album featuring their R&B line-up of guitarist Denny Laine, bassist Clint Warwick, keyboardist Mike Pinder, flautist–percussionist Ray Thomas, and drummer Graeme Edge. Lead vocals were shared by Laine, Pinder and Thomas. The album is a collection of R&B and Merseybeat songs, including "Go Now", produced by Alex Wharton, which had been a Number 1 hit single earlier that year. For the U.S. release, on London Records, with the title of ''Go Now – The Moody Blues #1'', four songs were replaced and the tracks re-ordered. ''Sonny Boy Williamson & the Yardbirds'' is a live album by Chicago blues veteran Sonny Boy Williamson II backed by English rock band the Yardbirds. It was recorded at the Crawdaddy Club in Richmond, Surrey on December 8, 1963. However, the performances were not released until early 1966, after a string of Top 40 hits by the Yardbirds. Williamson sings and/or plays the harmonica on all of the songs. The Yardbirds
The Yardbirds are an English rock band, formed in London in 1963. The band's core lineup featured vocalist and harmonica player Keith Relf, drummer Jim McCarty, rhythm guitarist and later bassist Chris Dreja and bassist/producer Paul Samwell-Smith. Crawdaddy Club
The Crawdaddy Club was a music venue in Richmond, Surrey, England, which opened in 1963. The Rolling Stones were its house band in its first year and were followed by The Yardbirds. Several other notable British blues and rhythm and blues acts also played there. History Giorgio Gomelsky was a Georgian émigré who worked as an assistant film editor by day and a music promoter by night. He began in the jazz scene before starting the Piccadilly Club, a blues club in central London. When that closed in early 1963 he needed a new venue and, since he knew the landlord of the Station Hotel in suburban Richmond, he took over the back room, which had been little used since its jazz sessions had petered out. The name of the club derived from Bo Diddley's 1960 song " Doing the Craw-Daddy", which The Rolling Stones regularly performed as part of their set.
