Bwncath
Bwncath (" buzzard") is a Welsh rock-folk or contemporary folk band from Caernarfon. History The four-member band was formed in 2014. The main singer, Elidyr Glyn, won the Alun Sbardun Huws trophy in the Eisteddfod Genedlaethol 2016 for composing the song ''Curiad Y Dydd''. Glyn is also known for winning Cân i Gymru ("Song for Wales") in 2019, with the song ''Fel Hyn 'Da Ni Fod''. The band were described as the busiest and one of the most popular bands in Wales in 2022, performing over 100 gigs and booked to perform every weekend until July 2023. They headlined Saturday in Tafwyl that year. In 2023, Bwncath was described as one of the highlights of "Fel 'Na Mai" ("That's how it is") rock festival in Pembrokeshire. On 21 November 2023, bass guitarist and teacher Alun Williams was charged by North Wales Police with sexual communication with a child. Caernarfon
Caernarfon (; ) is a royal town, community and port in Gwynedd, Wales, with a population of 9,852 (with Caeathro). It lies along the A487 road, on the eastern shore of the Menai Strait, opposite the Isle of Anglesey. ''Cân i Gymru'' (English: ''A Song for Wales'', ) is a Welsh television show broadcast on S4C annually. It was first introduced in 1969 when BBC Cymru wanted to enter the Eurovision Song Contest. It has taken place every year since, except in 1973. The winner of the contest represents Wales at the annual Pan Celtic Festival held in Ireland and is also awarded a cash prize (which varies from year to year). Urdd National Eisteddfod
The Urdd National Eisteddfod ( cy, Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Urdd Gobaith Cymru or ''Eisteddfod Genedlaethol yr Urdd'') is an annual Welsh-language youth festival of literature, music and performing arts organised by Urdd Gobaith Cymru.
