Buzzie Reutimann
Emil Lloyd "Buzzie" Reutimann (born May 7, 1941) is a former NASCAR driver from Zephyrhills, Florida. He is the father of former driver David Reutimann. Reutimann was inducted into the Northeast Dirt Modified Hall of Fame in 1997 and the Eastern Motorsport Press Association Hall of Fame in 2006. Reutimann began working on race cars at age 13 despite his mother's protests. Primarily a short track racer, he made one NASCAR start on November 11, 1962 in Tampa, Florida at Golden Gate Speedway. He started 18th and finished 10th in the event, which was considered part of the 1963 season. He was given the nickname "Buzzie" at birth after several nurses noticed he made buzzing sounds as an infant. He drove the number #00, and so did his son David in the Sprint Cup Series. Zephyrhills, Florida
Zephyrhills is a city in Pasco County, Florida, United States. The population was counted at 17,194 in the 2020 census. It is a suburb of the Tampa Bay Metropolitan Statistical Area. Zephyrhills is also known as the headquarters of the Zephyrhills bottled water company and is a member of Tree City USA. History Zephyrhills began as the town of Abbott on April 18, 1888, and consisted of 280.74 acres. A voting district was established in 1893 followed by a post office in 1896. In 1909, Captain Howard B. Jeffries, a Civil War Union veteran from Pennsylvania, purchased 35,000 acres and created the Zephyrhills Colony Company with a plan to create a community for Civil War veterans. In 1910 the town voted to change its name to Zephyrhills; it was incorporated in 1914. The NASCAR Cup Series is the top racing series of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). Orange County Fair Speedway is a dirt oval Oval track racing, speedway in Middletown, Orange County, New York. The facility holds weekly stock car racing, stock car races and demolition derby, demolition derbies during the summer months.
