Denise Ho
Denise Ho Wan-see (born 10 May 1977) is a Hong Kong-based Cantopop singer and actress. She is also a pro-democracy and Hong Kong human rights activist. In 2012, Ho came out as lesbian, the first mainstream Cantonese singer to do so. In 2014, Ho was blacklisted by the Chinese government and by the luxury brand Lancome for her participation in the Umbrella Movement in Hong Kong. Ho is a Canadian citizen. On 28 December 2021, Ho was arrested by the Hong Kong police under the joint charges of both production and distribution of seditious materials. Early life and education Ho was born in Hong Kong. Butterfly Lovers
The Butterfly Lovers is a Chinese legend of a tragic love story of a pair of lovers, Liang Shanbo () and Zhu Yingtai (), whose names form the title of the story. The title is often abbreviated to Liang Zhu (). The story was selected as one of China's Four Great Folktales by the "Folklore Movement" in the 1920s—the others being the Legend of the White Snake (''Baishezhuan''), Lady Meng Jiang, and The Cowherd and the Weaving Maid (''Niulang Zhinü''). Six cities in China have collaborated in 2004 on a formal application for the Proclamation of Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity on the legend at UNESCO, submitted in 2006 through the Chinese Ministry of Culture. Endy Chow Kwok-yin (born 11 December 1979) is a Hong Kong actor, singer and songwriter. Early life Chow was born on 11 December 1979 at Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital in Happy Valley, his family immigrated to New Zealand when he was 13. He went to Japan to further his studies when he was 19. Career At 15, Chow formed a band with friends (including current members of Climax), naming it Zarahn after the band's first guitar teacher. Thereafter, Zarahn composed more than 100 songs. He was signed to Warner Hong Kong as a solo artist in September 2003 after a friend, Candy Hung, helped pass his demo tape to composer and producer, Joannes Lam. Anthony Wong Yiu-ming (; born 16 June 1962) is a Hong Kong singer, songwriter, actor, record producer and political activist.
