Bustard Head
Eurimbula National Park is a protected area in the locality of Eurimbula, Queensland, Australia, in the Gladstone Region near Agnes Water, 411 km north of Brisbane. Location and Features The Park is located on the central Queensland coast, nearly 112-km north-west of Bundaberg. The first Europeans to visit the place were Captain James Cook and botanist Sir Joseph Banks. It is covered with diverse vegetation including mangroves, littoral rainforest and coastal vine thickets, freshwater paperbark swamps, eucalypt forests and much more. In addition to 757 species of plants, there is a habitat here for 430 species of animals, of which 26 are on the list of rare or endangered species. The average elevation of the terrain is 40 meters. Geography Agnes Water is in Central Queensland approximately south-east of the Bruce Highway, Queensland's major coastal route. It is accessed via the main road called Round Hill Road. ''Melaleuca'' () is a genus of nearly 300 species of plants in the myrtle family, Myrtaceae, commonly known as paperbarks, honey-myrtles or tea-trees (although the last name is also applied to species of ''Leptospermum''). They range in size from small shrubs that rarely grow to more than high, to trees up to . Their flowers generally occur in groups, forming a "head" or "spike" resembling a brush used for cleaning bottles, containing up to 80 individual flowers. Melaleucas are an important food source for nectarivorous insects, birds, and mammals. Bustard Head Light
Bustard Head Light is an active lighthouse located on the southeast tip of Bustard Head, a headland, about northwest of Seventeen Seventy, in the Australian state of Queensland, within the Eurimbula National Park and locality of Eurimbula. Built in 1868, it is the second-oldest lightstation in the state, following Cape Moreton Light, and the first to be built in Queensland after its formation in 1859. It is also one of the first in Australia to be constructed using bolted prefabricated segments of cast iron, and one of only two such lighthouses in Queensland, the other being its sibling, Sandy Cape Light. Kenn Reef
Kenn Reef is a submerged coral atoll off the Pacific coast of Queensland, Australia. It is about 15 by 8 km and appears as either a backward facing "L" or a boot. The reef covers an area of approximately 40 km2, with an islet in the Southeast part of the reef called Observatory Cay which is approximately 2 m above the high tide level It is part of the Coral Sea Islands and is over 280 nm north-east from Gladstone, Queensland.
