Buskerud (Storting Constituency)
Buskerud is one of the 19 multi-member constituencies of the Storting, the national legislature of Norway. The constituency was established in 1921 following the introduction of proportional representation for elections to the Storting. It consists of the municipalities of Ål, Drammen, Flå, Gol, Hemsedal, Hol, Hole, Jevnaker, Kongsberg, Krødsherad, Lier, Modum, Nesbyen, Nore og Uvdal, Øvre Eiker, Ringerike, Rollag and Sigdal in the county of Viken. The constituency currently elects seven of the 169 members of the Storting using the open party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2021 parliamentary election it had 191,637 registered electors. Storting
The Storting ( no, Stortinget ) (lit. the Great Thing) is the supreme legislature of Norway, established in 1814 by the Constitution of Norway. It is located in Oslo. The unicameral parliament has 169 members and is elected every four years based on party-list proportional representation in nineteen multi-seat constituencies. A member of Stortinget is known in Norwegian as a ''stortingsrepresentant'', literally "Storting representative". The assembly is led by a president and, since 2009, five vice presidents: the presidium. The members are allocated to twelve standing committees as well as four procedural committees. Sigdal
Sigdal is a municipality in Viken county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Prestfoss. The municipality of Sigdal was established on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The area of Krødsherad was separated from Sigdal on 1 January 1901. The municipality has common borders with the municipalities of Flå, Krødsherad, Modum, Øvre Eiker, Flesberg, Rollag, and Nore og Uvdal. Name The Old Norse form of the name was ''Sigmardalr'' or ''Sigmudalr''. The first element is the genitive case of a river name ''Sigm(a)'' (now called the Simoa) and the last element is ''dalr'' which means "valley" or "dale". The Simoa river runs through Sigdal, flowing in a south-easterly course until it flows into Drammenselva at Åmot in Modum. Per Olaf Lundteigen
Per Olaf Lundteigen (born 18 April 1953) is a Norwegian farmer and politician for the Centre Party. Career He was born in Vestfossen, took his secondary education in Hokksund in 1972 and the cand.agric. degree at the Norwegian College of Agriculture in 1977. From 1977 to 1979 he worked as a secretary in the Norwegian Agrarian Association. After three years in Ringebu municipality he settled as a farmer in 1982. Masud Gharahkhani ( fa, مسعود قرهخانی; born 22 September 1982) is a Norwegian politician who has served as the President of the Storting since 2021, and as an Member of the Storting for Buskerud since 2017 for the Labour Party. Early life and education Born in Tehran, Iran, Masud Gharahkhani emigrated to Norway with his family in 1987 and grew up in Skotselv in Øvre Eiker. His family is originally from Piranshahr, Iran. His father is politician and trade unionist Bijan Gharakhani. Lise Christoffersen
Lise Christoffersen (born 5 August 1955 in Drammen) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. She was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Buskerud in 2005. On the local level, Christoffersen was a member of Drammen city council from 1983 to 2003, serving as deputy mayor from 1991 to 1995 and mayor from 1995 to 2003. Outside politics she graduated as cand.mag. from the University of Oslo in 1979, and took the master's degree in political science in 1989.
