Bus Queensland Toowoomba
Bus Queensland was formed in April 2009 when the Pulitano Group purchased both the Garden City Sunbus and Kynoch Coaches operations. Kynoch Coaches was a family-owned business, previously owned by Jason Ward, operated urban, school and long-distance services from its base, in Stephen Street, Toowoomba. Garden City Sunbus was a division of Sunbus and formed in September 2003 after Hagan's City Bus handed back its licence due to Queensland Transport rejecting requests for higher subsidies. Bus Queensland operated a network of long-distance coach services from Toowoomba to Cunnamulla, Lightning Ridge and Rockhampton. Pulitano Group
The Pulitano Group is an Australian operator of buses and coaches in Queensland and Victoria. History The Pulitano Group was formed in 2003 when the various bus interests of the Pulitano family were combined. In Victoria the Pulitanos operated Australian Coach Travel, Cranbourne Transit, Mansfield-Mount Buller Bus Lines, Northern Bus Lines and US Bus Lines, and in Queensland Park Ridge Transit and Westside Bus Company. In July 2008 Northern Bus Lines was sold to Dysons and in December 2009 US Bus Lines was sold to Ventura Bus Lines. In 2009 Kynoch Coaches and Sunbus Toowoomba were purchased and merged to form Bus Queensland Toowoomba. It has since purchased Laidley Bus Service. Brisbane Transit Centre
The Brisbane Transit Centre, at 151-171 Roma Street, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, was a long-distance bus station. It was closed and demolished in 2020 along with its three office towers. It was commonly regarded as the ugliest building in Brisbane. Opened in 1986, the Brisbane Transit Centre was between the Queensland Police Service headquarters and the Roma Street Parkland. The complex included a number of shops, cafes and restaurants, and two office towers. Access to the centre was from the ground floor on Roma Street or from the Roma Street Parkland. Murrays Coaches is an Australian express and coach charter company. History Murrays was founded by Bill Murray in the early 1950s as a school bus operator in Canberra. The operation was taken over by Ron Murray in 1970 by which time it was operating services to Captains Flat, Kowen Forest, Naas, Tidbinbilla, Uriarra and Williamsdale with 10 buses. Murrays were operating seven school buses when the services were taken over by Deane's Buslines in November 1997. At some point Murrays diversified into coach operation, initially to the Snowy Mountains. By the mid-1980s Murrays were operating interstate services from Canberra to Sydney, Wollongong and Narooma.
