Burwood Plaza
The Burwood Plaza Shopping Centre (commonly and formerly officially known as Burwood Plaza) is a regional shopping centre owned by Holdmark Property Group. It is located in the suburb of Burwood, New South Wales, Burwood in Sydney's Inner West. Burwood Plaza is anchored by a Woolworths Supermarkets, Woolworths supermarket and also includes a number of East Asian specialty shops due to the large Chinese immigrant presence in the suburb. Due to the lack in investment into the property by Holdmark in preparation for demolition and future redevelopment, Burwood Plaza has become known as one of Australia's few Dead mall, dying shopping centres. Franklins
Franklins was an Australian discount supermarket chain selling packaged groceries and perishables throughout New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia. It sold the "No Frills" home brand generic products. In 2011 the chain was bought by Metcash and the stores were sold off, shut down or converted into new supermarket banners or other brands. is a large franchise of 100-yen shops founded in Japan. The headquarters are in Higashihiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture. Waltons was an Australian department store chain, founded by John Walton (1904–1998). History Walton bought a menswear store in 1951, located on George Street, Sydney, opposite the Queen Victoria Building and Sydney Town Hall and near Town Hall station. Over the years it was expanded along Park Street with adjoining properties purchased. In 1955, Walton formed an alliance with the American retail giant Sears, Roebuck and Co. In the early 1960s, he started a finance company in partnership with Citibank, and also moved into insurance. That part of the business was sold to Norwich Union in 1980.
