Bursars
A bursar (derived from "bursa", Latin for '' purse'') is a professional administrator in a school or university often with a predominantly financial role. In the United States, bursars usually hold office only at the level of higher education (four-year colleges and universities) or at private secondary schools. In Australia, the United Kingdom and other countries, bursars are common at other levels of education. Duties The bursar is responsible for billing of student tuition accounts. This responsibility involves sending bills and making payment plans; the ultimate goal is to bring all student accounts to a "paid off" status. Bursars are not necessarily involved in the financial aid process. Bursars' duties vary from one institution to another. At many institutions, bursars deal only with student finances. BGSU Bursar
Bowling Green State University (BGSU) is a public research university in Bowling Green, Ohio. The main academic and residential campus is south of Toledo, Ohio. The university has nationally recognized programs and research facilities in the natural and social sciences, education, arts, business, health and wellness, humanities and applied technologies. The institution was granted a charter in 1910 as a normal school, specializing in teacher training and education, as part of the Lowry Normal School Bill that authorized two new normal schools in the state of Ohio. John Bradfield (scientist)
Sir John Richard Grenfell Bradfield, (20 May 1925 – 13 October 2014) was a British biologist and entrepreneur, most famous for his role as the founder of Cambridge Science Park, the first Science Park in Europe. Education Sir John was a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge from 1947 until his death in 2014. He was a former pupil of the Cambridge and County High School for Boys — now Hills Road Sixth Form College — where he won a scholarship to study natural sciences. Cambridge Science Park and Career In 1975, Trinity College, under Bradfield's guidance as Senior Bursar, founded England's first science park on the outskirts of Cambridge. Dr Bradfield spearheaded the creation of Cambridge's research and business campus in the early 1970s, and was its director for many years. The Unseen University (UU) is a school of wizardry in Terry Pratchett's ''Discworld'' series of fantasy novels. Located in the fictional city of Ankh-Morpork, the UU is staffed by a faculty composed of mostly indolent and inept old wizards. Cecil Goodden
Cecil Phelips Goodden (12 November 1879 – 5 November 1969) was an English cricketer, writer and British Army and Royal Marines officer. Goodden was a right-handed batsman. The son of John Robert Phelips Goodden, who would later become High Sheriff of Dorset, and Caroline Samuelson, he was born in Compton House, the family home of the Goodden family, in the village of Over Compton, Dorset. He was later educated at Harrow School, where he played for the school cricket team in 1899. Goodden made his first-class debut for the Marylebone Cricket Club in 1900 against London County. William Beveridge Liddell (10 January 1922 – 3 July 2001) was a Scottish footballer, who played his entire professional career with Liverpool. He signed with the club as a teenager in 1938 and retired in 1961, having scored 228 goals in 534 appearances (placing Liddell fourth and 12th in the respective club rankings as of June 2022). Jesus College is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge. The college's full name is The College of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint John the Evangelist and the glorious Virgin Saint Radegund, near Cambridge. Derek Taunt
Derek Roy Taunt (16 November 1917 (Note 1) – 15 July 2004) was a British mathematician who worked as a codebreaker during World War II at Bletchley Park. Taunt attended Enfield Grammar, then the City of London School.
