Andrew George Burry (February 2, 1873 – January 22, 1975) was a businessman, manufacturer and philanthropist. Born in Undervillier, Switzerland, he emigrated to the United States in 1884. Burry founded the Wayne Paper Box and Printing Corp. in 1898, and was also the founder and President of the National Paper Box Manufacturing Association(s) in 1917 - 1918, and 1926 - 1928. Harold Burry
Harold E. Burry (May 31, 1912 – September 5, 1992) was an American football coach and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania from 1952 to 1971, compiling a record of 127–31–5. Burry also coached a number of other sports at Westminster and was the school's athletic director from 1961 to 1977. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1996. Burry graduated from Westminster College in 1935. He began his coaching career at Ellwood City High School in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, where he was head football coach from 1935 to 1943. Hugh Burry
Hugh Cameron Burry (29 October 1930 – 18 June 2013) was a rugby union player from New Zealand. He was also an accomplished cricketer, and was eligible for representing New Zealand in international competition, though he did never did so. Burry played 41 times for Canterbury between 1955 and 1962, in the back row. He played for the All Blacks on the 1960 tour of South Africa; despite a groin injury he played 11 games, scoring 8 tries, but played in no tests. Because of the demands of medical studies and practice, Burry did not play for the All Blacks until 1960. He was a general practitioner in New Brighton, Christchurch from 1957 to 1965, then a medical registrar at Christchurch Hospital. Burry then went to London until 1976, working at Guy's Hospital and lecturing at London University. Lester L. Burry, OC (1898–1977) born Safe Harbour, Bonavista Bay, Newfoundland. A United Church Minister Lester Burry was baptized Methodist in 1898 and ordained a minister by the Newfoundland Conference of the Methodist Church in 1924. The Newfoundland Conference of the Methodist Church entered into union with the United Church of Canada at the time of its inception in 1925, although the Dominion of Newfoundland did not enter into confederation with Canada until 1949 Politics Burry was the National Convention Delegate for Labrador from 1946 to 1948. Mark Cameron Burry (born 24 February 1957) is a New Zealand architect. He is the Foundation Director of Swinburne University of Technology’s Smart Cities Research Institute. Michael James Burry (; born June 19, 1971) is an American investor, hedge fund manager, and physician. He founded the hedge fund Scion Capital, which he ran from 2000 until 2008 before closing it to focus on his personal investments. He is best known for being amongst the first investors to predict and profit from the subprime mortgage crisis that occurred between 2007 and 2010. Burry Holms () ( cy, Ynys Lanwol), a tidal island with the height of () is at the northern end of Rhossili Bay in the Gower Peninsula, Wales. During spring and summer, Burry Holms is covered by flowers such as thrift and sea campion. Etymologies The island was well known within Celtic Christianity as it was heavily associated with traditions of Saint Cenydd (who is thought to have lived there as a hermit). As such, it would certainly have had an identifiable name in Old Welsh, possibly using Cenydd as an eponym. Later records of the name ''"Saint Kenyth atte Holmes"'' may also suggest a pre-Norse nomenclature associated with Cenydd. Despite this, the current English names only date back to the Norse period and the Modern Welsh name, Ynys Lanwol ("tidal island") is thought to be a relatively recent appellation. Burry Port ( cy, Porth Tywyn) is a port town and community in Carmarthenshire, Wales, on the Loughor estuary (Moryd Llwchwr), to the west of Llanelli and south-east of Kidwelly. Its population was recorded at 5,680 in the 2001 census and 6,156 in the 2011 census, and estimated at 5,998 in 2019. The town has a harbour. It is also where Amelia Earhart landed as the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean.
