"Burnt Out Car" is a single by Saint Etienne. It was released by Heavenly Records on to promote the November 2008 release of the band's latest best of album, '' London Conversations: The Best of Saint Etienne''. The release of London Conversations was eventually delayed to February. "Burnt Out Car" was originally slated to be a single in 1996 and remixes were commissioned. The release was eventually dropped but the Balearico Mix surfaced on the ''Casino Classics'' remix collection and the ''Continental'' album. The original mix was not released until 2006, when it appeared on the outtakes collection ''Nice Price''. The track was re-recorded and produced by the Xenomania team for the 2008 release. The single was backed by three b-sides spanning the 7" and CD single as well as a remix by Mark Brown. Saint Etienne are an English band from London, formed in 1990. The band consists of Sarah Cracknell, Bob Stanley (musician), Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs. They became associated with the UK's indie dance scene in the 1990s, beginning with the release of their debut album ''Foxbase Alpha'' in 1991. Their work has been described as uniting 1990s club culture with 1960s pop and other disparate influences. The name of the band comes from the French football club of AS Saint-Étienne. ''Continental'' is an album by the British band Saint Etienne which had original release only in Japan. It is a compilation that includes previously released material such as the UK hit "He's on the Phone" as well as curios like their cover of the Paul Gardiner/ Gary Numan song " Stormtrooper in Drag". Many of the tracks were recorded during the 'wilderness' years of 1996–97 when the band members worked on their separate projects. The remix versions on this album had all appeared on Casino Classics. As part of the 2009 Saint Etienne back catalogue reissue program, the album has had a UK release for the first time. It also has a Heavenly catalogue number - HVNLP70. The deluxe edition includes four previously unreleased tracks. Jarvis Branson Cocker (born 19 September 1963) is an English musician and radio presenter. Sarah Cracknell (born 12 April 1967) is an English singer-songwriter and lead singer of the electronic music band Saint Etienne. Career Cracknell's career started with the Windsor-based indie band The Worried Parachutes in 1982. Following the demise of the band she released a solo single, ''Love Is All You Need'', in 1987. ''Casino Classics'' is a multi-CD remix compilation album by Saint Etienne. The first CD collects many of the remixes featured as B-sides on the band's singles from 1990 to 1995. The second contains rarer remixes (such as Underworld's remix of "Cool Kids of Death") and newly commissioned remixes. Disc one was originally a bonus CD released with limited copies of '' Too Young to Die - The Singles''. Disc two features four previously unavailable songs. Early copies came in a card slipcase with a round sticker. An expanded, four-disc version of the compilation was released in 2012 with a revised running order.
