Burnside Heights is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, north-west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Melton local government area. Burnside Heights recorded a population of 6,377 at the 2021 census. Burnside Heights is separated from the suburb of Burnside to the south by Kororoit Creek and Caroline Springs. Burnside Heights, although a young suburb, is well established, with nearby schools, medical centres, a kindergarten, a gymnasium and an AFL and cricket oval. Burnside Heights has several large shopping centres in close proximity, including Watergardens and Brimbank Central. Its major draw card is its close proximity (500m) to the Caroline Springs town square, which is a major activity centre for the area. Electoral District Of Kororoit
The electoral district of Kororoit is an electorate of the Victorian Legislative Assembly covering Albanvale, Victoria, Albanvale, Caroline Springs, Victoria, Caroline Springs as well as some parts of Deer Park, Victoria, Deer Park and St Albans, Victoria, St Albans in the western suburbs of Melbourne. The 2021 Australian census, simply called the 2021 Census, was the eighteenth national Census of Population and Housing in Australia. The 2021 Census took place on 10 August 2021, and was conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). Kororoit Creek Trail
__NOTOC__ The Kororoit Creek Trail is a shared use path for cyclists and pedestrians, which follows the Kororoit Creek in the inner western suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The interrupted upper section is located in Burnside and Deer Park, the uninterrupted middle section starts in Ardeer and proceeds to Brooklyn, while the lower section is located in Altona. Following the trail Upper section (interrupted) The trail starts in Caroline Springs, on to Burnside continuing through to Albanvale and then Deer Park (approx 10 km). The trail starts as a concrete path in Caroline Springs, where Caroline Springs Boulevarde crosses the creek. Some 2 km later use the road section from Westwood Drive to Bilungah Place. Ballarat V/Line Rail Service
The Ballarat V/Line rail service is a regional passenger rail service operated by V/Line in Victoria, Australia. It serves passengers between state capital Melbourne and the regional city of Ballarat. Beyond Ballarat, it changes name to the Ararat railway line and the Maryborough railway line. The Ballarat service is the second busiest service in Victoria (behind Geelong), carrying 3.17 million passengers in the 12 months ended 30 June 2014. Caroline Springs Railway Station
Caroline Springs railway station is located on the Serviceton line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the western Melbourne suburb of Ravenhall, and opened on 28 January 2017. History The ''Victorian Transport Plan'', released in 2008, proposed the progressive upgrade of the Melton line, to support future urban development in the corridor. Construction of the station was to have commenced in 2010, and be completed in 2012. After the 2010 State Election, the Baillieu Government put further construction on hold, with an access road to the site having been partially constructed. The Sunbury railway line is a suburban electric railway in Melbourne, Australia. It has 15 stations, in Myki ticketing Zones 1 and 2. It is the electrified section of the Bendigo railway within metropolitan Melbourne. Prior to the line extension to Sunbury, the line was known as the Sydenham railway line, and prior to the extension of electrification to Sydenham, the line was known as the St Albans railway line. Keilor Plains railway station is located on the Sunbury line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the western Melbourne suburb of St Albans, and opened on 27 January 2002. History Keilor Plains station opened on 27 January 2002, as part of the extension of the electrified network from St Albans to Sydenham. In 1986, boom barriers were installed at the former Taylors Road level crossing, which was located at the down end of the station. In 1994, a rail-road roundabout was provided at the level crossing. In April 2007, construction commenced on a grade separation project, which involved lowering the road underneath the railway line. Watergardens Town Centre is a super regional shopping centre located in Taylors Lakes, 24 kilometres north-west of Melbourne, Victoria. The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football. Through the AFL Commission, the AFL also serves as the sport's governing body and is responsible for controlling the laws of the game.
