Burning Japan Live
''Burning Japan Live'' is a live album by former Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and Trapeze vocalist and bassist Glenn Hughes. It was recorded at the Club Citta in Kawasaki, Japan on Tuesday 24 May and Wednesday 25 May 1994 in support of the studio album '' From Now On...''. History This was the first official live solo album to be released by Hughes. It features a set-list of fifteen songs, four from his 1994 solo album '' From Now On...'', three songs from the ''Hughes/Thrall'' album and seven Deep Purple numbers. It also features a never before heard song titled ''Still In Love With You'', on which Hughes plays keyboards. Hughes’ band for the concerts was the same as the band that played on '' From Now On...'', including Europe members Mic Michaeli, John Levén and Ian Haugland (who only performed on the bonus tracks from '' From Now On...''). ''Burning Japan Live 1999'' is a live album by the Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy. Originally released in Japan only, the album was re-released worldwide in 2000 due to fan demand. Reception ''Burning Japan Live 1999'' received mixed reviews by critics. Metal Rules's El Cid criticized mainly the crowd writing that "the Japanese crowd doesn't help much in this matter, no offense to anyone but it does seem like everyone is just sitting down listening and doing nothing else during a gig unless they are instructed to by Johan Liiva" and stated that the album "is very much like listening to a compilation of Arch Enemy songs rather than a live album." Arch Enemy
Arch Enemy is a Swedish melodic death metal band, originally a supergroup from Halmstad, formed in 1995. Its members were in bands such as Carcass, Armageddon, Carnage, Mercyful Fate, Spiritual Beggars, The Agonist, Nevermore, and Eucharist. It was founded by Carcass guitarist Michael Amott along with Johan Liiva, who were both originally from the death metal band Carnage. The band has released eleven studio albums, three live albums, three video albums and four EPs. The band was originally fronted by Johan Liiva, who was replaced by German vocalist Angela Gossow in 2000. Drum
The drum is a member of the percussion group of musical instruments. In the Hornbostel-Sachs classification system, it is a membranophone. Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses. Thomas Larsson
Thomas Larsson (born 1964 in Falun, Sweden) is a Swedish guitarist and songwriter, perhaps most famous for his work with singer Glenn Hughes and with the band Baltimoore. He has also released a few solo albums. Biography Larsson started playing the guitar at the age of twelve, after receiving his first guitar as a gift from his parents for his twelve birthday. He would join his first serious band at the age of 17 in 1982, Six Feet Under (not to be confused with the American band of the same name), which also featured future Baltimoore bandmate Björn Lodin. The band dissolved after two albums in 1994. Larsson would then work as a freelance guitarist, including working on the first Baltimoore album, ''There's no Danger on the Roof'', in 1989, and he went on to record one album with Swedish band Yeah Bop Station. Phenomena (band)
Phenomena is a rock music concept formed by record producer Tom Galley and his brother, Whitesnake guitarist Mel Galley. During the recording of ''Phenomena I'', they were joined by Metalhammer founder Wilfried Rimensberger. Contributors were leading rock musicians such as Glenn Hughes, Brian May, and John Wetton, amongst others. History In a cover story run by ''Kerrang!'' magazine in 1985, Phenomena's production of rock songs based on a story line running through a whole album, attached to artworks and other multi-media aspects, was credited for the "return of the concept album" in the 1980s. Phenomena released three albums in the 1980s and early 1990s, and had a number one hit single in South America with "Did It All for Love", while the album charted in Europe, Japan, and Brazil.
