Buren Fowler
James van Buren Fowler (June 29, 1959 – March 8, 2014) was an American rock and roll and blues guitar player from Atlanta, Georgia. He was the lead guitarist for Southern rock band Drivin' n' Cryin' from 1988 to 1993, and had previously toured with R.E.M. Biography Fowler toured with R.E.M. in the mid-1980s, as a guitar technician for Peter Buck, and later as a featured rhythm guitarist on the band's tours in 1986 and 1987. Fowler subsequently joined Drivin N Cryin, a band that had frequently opened for and toured with R.E.M. Fowler stayed with Drivin' n' Cryin' until 1994, releasing three records and touring internationally. Fowler departed from the main lineup of Drivin' n' Cryin' when leader Kevn Kinney decided to scale down the group's Southern rock sound. Fowler, a lifelong, avid baseball fan, relocated to Louisville, Kentucky to work with sports clients, including Louisville Slugger. Drivin N Cryin
Drivin' n' Cryin' is an American Southern rock band from Atlanta, Georgia, United States. History The band was formed in 1985 in Atlanta when Kevin Kinney hooked up with Frank French at the latter's recording studio, Dragon Path Music, and began working on original songs at night and working at times at French's shop "Far East Futon Company" in Atlanta. Kinney also hooked up with Tim Nielsen, who was in a popular band called the Nightporters with drummer Paul Lenz. MacDougal Blues
''MacDougal Blues'' is the debut solo album from Drivin N Cryin vocalist Kevn Kinney, released on Island Records in 1990. The album received positive reviews. Release and reception After the album's January 1990 release, Kinney toured with producer Peter Buck the following month. The musical output of that tour encouraged Kinney and the other members of Drivin N Cryin to move from a hard rock/ Southern rock sound to a more folk rock style. Buck found the experience to be enjoyable and one of his favorite production jobs. Denise Sullivan of AllMusic Guide gave the album a positive review for Kinney's songwriting, and the editorial staff awarded the album 4.5 out of five stars. Six Flags Over Georgia is a theme park located in Mableton, Georgia. Opened in 1967, it is the second park in the Six Flags chain following the original Six Flags Over Texas, which opened in 1961.
