Burel Valley
Burel Valley ( bg, Бурелска котловина, Burelska kotlovina) is a Sub-Balkan Valley in western Bulgaria. The valley is limited by the western branches of Chepan Mountain (part of the Balkan Mountains) to the north, Zavalska Mountain and Viskyar to the south and Greben Mountain (in Serbia Serbia (, ; Serbian language, Serbian: , , ), officially the Republic of Serbia (Serbian language, Serbian: , , ), is a landlocked country in Southeast Europe, Southeastern and Central Europe, situated at the crossroads of the Pannonian Bas ...) to the west. Sub-Balkan Valley
The Sub-Balkan Valleys ( bg, Подбалкански котловини, Podbalkanski kotlovini) are row of 11 valleys running from the Bulgarian border with Serbia east to the Black Sea. They are separating the Balkan mountains from a chain of other mountains known as Srednogorie which includes Vitosha and Sredna Gora. There is great abundance of mineral waters. Chepan Mountain
Mount Chepan ( bg, Чепън, translit=) is a mountain located in western Bulgaria, part of the Balkan Mountains. Geography Mount Chepan stretches about 20 km in length and varies in width from 2.5 to 5.5 km, covering an area of around 80 km2. Its highest peak, Petrov crast, stands at 1205.6 meters. The mountain is surrounded by the Nišava River to the north and Mala Mountain to the east, with Dragoman marsh and Ponor Mountain to the south. The Dragoman–Godech road demarcates it from the west. Close to the town of Dragoman, it is also near the Kalotina– Dimitrovgrad border checkpoint, linking Bulgaria with Serbia via the international road E80 and a railway line. Balkan Mountains
The Balkan mountain range (, , known locally also as Stara planina) is a mountain range in the eastern part of the Balkan Peninsula in Southeastern Europe. The range is conventionally taken to begin at the peak of Vrashka Chuka on the border between Bulgaria and Serbia. It then runs for about , first in a south-easterly direction along the border, then eastward across Bulgaria, forming a natural barrier between the northern and southern halves of the country, before finally reaching the Black Sea at Cape Emine. Viskyar Mountain
Viskyar Mountain ( bg, Вискяр) is a minor range of hills in western Bulgaria rising to 1077 m (Mechi Kamak Peak), and bounded by Lyulin Mountain to the southeast, Sofia Valley to the northeast, Zavalska Mountain to the northwest, and Graovo Valley to the southwest. It is separated from the Lyulin and Zavalska hills by Raduyska Saddle and Yaroslavska Saddle, respectively. Greben (mountain)
Greben (Cyrillic: Гребен, meaning "ridge" or literally "comb") is a mountain in southeastern Serbia, with a small section of the southwestern ridge in Bulgaria. It is named after a large karst ridge that runs along its spine. Greben rises near the village of Poganovo in Serbia, in the municipality of Dimitrovgrad, and extends southeast towards the Bulgarian village of Vrabcha. Prior to the Treaty of Neuilly of 1919, after the First World War, the area was part of Bulgaria. Its highest peak ''Beženište'' (or ''Dziglina livada'') stands at an elevation of 1,338 meters above sea level. The highest peak that falls within Bulgaria is ''Dragovski kamak'' (Драговски камък), at 1,118 m. Due to the characteristic pyramidal shape of its north face, Dragovski kamak is referred to as the "Matterhorn of Tran". Sofia Valley
The Sofia Valley ( bg, Софийска котловина, Sofiyska kotlovina), or Sofia Field ( bg, Софийско поле, Sofiysko pole, link=no), is a valley in central western Bulgaria bordering Stara Planina to the northeast, the Viskyar, Lyulin, Vitosha and Lozen mountains to the southwest, the Vakarel Mountain to the southeast and the low Slivnitsa Heights to the northwest.
