Bureau Of Customs Transformers (basketball)
The Bureau of Customs Transformers was a basketball team currently that competed in the UNTV Cup Season 5. The Transformers were the newest team to be participate in the UNTV Cup, a public service-based basketball tournament in the Philippines. The team was supported by BOC Commissioners Nicanor Faeldon, that aims to beef up the bureau's campaign on the image transformation to the public from being the corrupted and controversial government agency to one of the most-efficient and transparent agencies to date. The team had one appearance before it was folded in 2017. The team's roster will were reinforced by PBA legend and former Senate Defenders player Kenneth Duremdes as their playing coach, together with former PBA players Marlou Aquino and Gherome Ejercito. UNTV Cup
The UNTV Cup is a men's charity basketball league organized in the Philippines. Twelve basketball teams organized by government agencies and guested by celebrities and ex-pro and amateur players compete in the league. The league's first game started on July 29, 2013 coinciding the 9th Anniversary Celebration of UNTV. As an amateur league, UNTV Cup is using the FIBA rules as its House Rules which is being used in world basketball and Olympics according to Mr. Raffy Britanico, officiating head of ''Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP)'', a basketball association in the Philippines. Its first season was held at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Philippines. Fortunato Co serves as the commissioner of the basketball league. Kenneth Duremdes
Kenneth Celera Duremdes (born January 31, 1974) is a Filipino retired professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association and the current commissioner of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). Nicknamed as "Captain Marbel", Duremdes is also a former PBA Most Valuable Player in 1998, and a former member of the Philippine national basketball team. Amateur career Duremdes played for Adamson University in the UAAP during the mid-90s and was touted as one of the future PBA superstars. He also played in the Philippine Basketball League where he had solid credentials. UNTV Cup Season 5
The UNTV Cup Season 5 was the 2016–17 season of the annual charity basketball league in the Philippines, UNTV Cup. The tournament organized by UNTV Public Service channel, through its chairman and chief executive officer of BMPI-UNTV, Kuya Daniel Razon, more popularly known as Mr. Public Service. The season was officially opened on August 29, 2016, at the Mall of Asia Arena, in Pasay, with 13 teams vying for the championship title of the season, including Season 4 champions AFP Cavaliers. A new team was introduced this season called the Bureau of Customs Transformers. Regular games will be held at the Pasig City Sports Center in Pasig and the University of Makati Gym in Makati, with a live telecast on the UNTV Public Service channel every Sunday afternoons. Nicanor Escalona Faeldon (; born July 29, 1965) is a Filipino former Marine who served as the Director-General of the Bureau of Corrections under the Duterte administration from November 21, 2018, until he was fired in September 2019. He served as Commissioner of the Bureau of Customs from June 30, 2016, to August 21, 2017.
