Blake Burdette (born January 19, 1980 in Minneapolis) is a rugby coach and former American rugby union hooker or prop. He was a member of the United States national rugby union team and made his international debut in 2006 against Uruguay. Burdette played for the USA Eagles in the 2007 Rugby World Cup. Currently, he has returned to playing professionally with Utah Warriors having come out of retirement aged 39, 12 years after previous professional rugby playing experience. Mallory Burdette (born January 28, 1991 in Macon, Georgia) is the retired American collegiate and professional tennis player. Personal life Burdette was born to Alan and Judy Burdette in Macon, Georgia. She has two sisters, Erin and Lindsay, and a brother Andy, who all played tennis at the college-level. She would have been a senior at Stanford University in the fall of 2012, but she gave up her final year of college eligibility to turn pro after her strong run at the 2012 US Open, where she reached the 3rd round, falling to then World No. 3 Maria Sharapova. She announced her retirement from professional tennis in October 2014, after being inactive for over a year due to a shoulder injury. Burdette Keeland, Jr. (February 2, 1926 – May 26, 2000) was an American architect and professor from Houston whose work was admired by Philip Johnson. Predominantly a modernist, he designed several projects from the 1950s through the 1970s. Keeland was born in 1926 in the town of Mart, Texas—just outside Waco. He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II. Keeland initially attended Texas A&M University and later enrolled at the University of Houston where he received a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1950. He returned to the University of Houston as a faculty member in 1954, but briefly left the university in order to attend Yale University and received a master's degree. Burdette Garner Johnson (January 2, 1885 – February 24, 1947) was an American Numismatist (specialist), numismatist. A long-time Missouri resident, Johnson was a coin dealer and numismatist based in St. Louis. Johnson was known best for his mentorship of future American numismatists and helped foster the coin collecting interests in the now-renowned numismatist Eric P. Newman. Early life Burdette Johnson was born on January 2, 1885, son of William A. Johnson (1849-1931) and Luella Lou Conway Johnson (1859-1914) at DeSoto, Missouri. He and his family moved to St. Louis when he was 12. Johnson largely educated himself and read a book a day, a routine which he followed through adulthood. Burdette Haldorson
Burdette Eliele "Burdie" Haldorson (born January 12, 1934) is a former American basketball player who competed in the 1956 Summer Olympics and in the 1960 Summer Olympics. Haldorson played college basketball for the Colorado Buffaloes. He was part of the American basketball team that won the gold medal in 1956. He never played professionally, but was a member of the AAU Phillips 66ers for a number of years. Four years later, in 1960, he won his second gold medal as part of the American team. Robert Jones Burdette (July 30, 1844 – November 19, 1914) was an American humorist and clergyman who became noted through his paragraphs in ''The Hawk Eye'' newspaper in Burlington, Iowa. Mary G. Burdette was his sister. Early life He was born in Greensboro, Pennsylvania, and received a secondary education in Peoria, Illinois. During the Civil War he served as a private in the 47th Illinois infantry. In 1869 he became night editor of the '' Peoria Daily Transcript'' and afterward was associated with other newspapers. He joined the staff of the '' Burlington Hawkeye'' in 1872, and his humorous paragraphs soon began to be quoted in newspapers throughout the country.
