Burak Kut
Burak Kut (born 27 August 1973) is a Turkish pop singer and songwriter. Biography As a child, Burak attended ''Müziğe Çapa'' and played in the orchestra for many years. He continued playing in an orchestra until he entered high school at İstanbul Anadolu Güzel Sanatlar Lisesi, where he began to play flute and piano. Burak then attended Kabataş Erkek Lisesi, he won the competition three years running. He released his first album ''Benimle Oynama/Çılgınım'' with Peker Music. His rise to fame rocketed, performing over 300 concerts soon after the album was released. He also won the European MTV "Local Hero Award" around this time. Burak did most of the work on his second album ''Nereden Geldim, Nerelere Gideceğim''. His song ''Yaşandı Bitti'' gained airplay in New York City, and his popularity now stretched out to the United States. Katerina "Katy" Garbi ( el, Κατερίνα "Καίτη" Γαρμπή, ; born 8 June 1961) is a Greek singer active in Greece and Cyprus, with some popularity in Turkey. Her career has spanned over 35 years with over 2 million records sold in Greece and abroad. Kurtuluş (TV Series)
Kurtuluş is a neighbourhood of the Şişli district of Istanbul that was originally called ''Tatavla,'' meaning 'stables' in Greek ( el, Ταταύλα). The modern Turkish name means "liberation", "salvation", "independence" or "deliverance". On 13 April 1929, six years after the Republic of Turkey was founded, a fire swept through the neighbourhood and largely destroyed it, with 207 houses going up in flames. The name was changed to Kurtuluş to mark the rebuilding of the area. Once a predominantly Greek Orthodox neighbourhood, its population today mostly consists of Turks who moved there after the Republic of Turkey was founded in 1923. ''O Ses Türkiye'' is a Turkish reality singing competition and local version of ''The Voice''. It started on October 10, 2011. ''O Ses Türkiye'' is presented by Acun Ilıcalı (since 2011). One of the important premises of the show is the quality of singing. Four coaches, themselves popular performing artists, train the contestants in their groups and occasionally perform with them. Talents are selected in blind auditions, where the coaches cannot see, but only hear the contestants. Selection process and format ''O Ses Türkiye'' consists of four judges and a presenter.
