Buor-Yuryakh
The Buor-Yuryakh (russian: Буор-Юрях; sah, Буор-Үрэх) is a river in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Russia. It is the second largest tributary of the Alazeya. The river has a length of and a drainage basin area of . The Buor-Yuryakh flows north of the Arctic Circle, across desolate territories of the Srednekolymsky District. The name of the river comes from the Yakut "Буор Үрэх" ''"Buor"'' = earth, clay / ''"Yurekh"'' = river. Course The Buor-Yuryakh is a right tributary of the Alazeya. It has its sources in the Kolyma Lowland, off the southern foothills of the Alazeya Plateau. The river flows across a floodplain among numerous lakes forming meanders all along its course. Alazeya
The Alazeya ( rus, Алазея, r=; sah, Алаһыай, translit=Alahıay) is a river in the northeastern part of Yakutia, Russia which flows into the Arctic between the basins of the larger Indigirka to the west and the Kolyma to the east. Mount Kisilyakh-Tas is a notable kigilyakh site on the right bank of the Alazeya River at . Geography The river is long. The area of its basin is . The Alazeya is formed at the confluence of the Nelkan and Kadylchan rivers in the slopes of the Alazeya Plateau. Meander
A meander is one of a series of regular sinuous curves in the channel of a river or other watercourse. It is produced as a watercourse erodes the sediments of an outer, concave bank ( cut bank) and deposits sediments on an inner, convex bank which is typically a point bar. The result of this coupled erosion and sedimentation is the formation of a sinuous course as the channel migrates back and forth across the axis of a floodplain. Alazeya Plateau
The Alazeya Plateau ( rus, Алазейское плоскогорье) is a mountain plateau in the Sakha Republic, Far Eastern Federal District, Russia. The area is named after river Alazeya, which has its source in the plateau. There are kigilyakhs in the Alazeya Plateau. The particularity of the kigilyakhs found in this location is that their lower part (corresponding to the legs) is thinner than the upper part. Geography The Alazeya Plateau is located in eastern Sakha Republic, between the Indigirka, Kolyma, Alazeya and Ozhogina rivers. The average height of the plateau surface is around . There are slightly higher tableland type elevations cutting across the plateau area; the highest point is a high unnamed summit.
