Buoban Pamang ( th, บัวบาน ผามั่ง; RTGS: Buaban Phamang, born 27 December 1983 in Chiang Rai) is a female javelin thrower from Thailand. In 2006, she won the Athletics at the Asian Games in a new national record of 61.31 metres. In 2007, she took another gold medal, at the 2007 Summer Universiade in another national record of 61.40 metres. Later that year she competed at the 2007 World Championships, but without reaching the final. Chiang Rai
Chiang Rai ( th, เชียงราย, ; nod, , เจียงฮาย, ) is the northernmost major city in Thailand, with a population of about 200,000 people. It is located in Mueang Chiang Rai District, Chiang Rai Province. Chiang Rai was established as a capital city in the reign of King Mangrai, in 1262 CE. Athletics At The 2006 Asian Games – Results
An Athletics competition was contested at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar from December 7 to December 12. Twenty-three events were contested for the men while 22 were on the slate for the women. Only the 3000 Meter Steeplechase was not contested for by the women. All track and field events were held at Khalifa International Stadium, and the racewalking and marathon took place at the Doha Corniche. A total of 530 athletes (comprising 331 men and 199 women) from 41 nations took part in the competition. Bhutan, Brunei, Indonesia and Myanmar were the only nations without a representative in the events.
