Bunky Echo–Hawk (born 1975) is a Native American artist and poet who is best known for his acrylic paintings concerning Native American topics and hip-hop culture. He works in a variety of media that include paintings, graphic design, photography, and writing. Biography Walter Roy "Bunky" Echo–Hawk Jr. is a member of the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma, and an enrolled member of the Yakama Nation. He attended the Institute of American Indian Arts in the 1990s. He served as the "co-founder and the Executive Director of NVision, a national Native nonprofit that focuses on Native youth development," and he is also a traditional singer and dancer. In 2020, Echo-Hawk was featured in the PBS series ''American Masters'' for his work on Native rights and environmentalism. Bunky and Jake were an American folk rock duo, who were a part of the New York folk music scene in the 1960s and 1970s. They merged folk, rock, R&B and blues. They are influenced heavily from the 50s classic pop and rock, such as Nolan Strong and the Diablos, the Crows, Dion and the Belmonts, the Mystics and the Passions. History Andrea "Bunky" Skinner and Allan "Jake" Jacobs (who later formed Jake and The Family Jewels, a band with Jerry Burnham, Michael Epstein, Dan Mansolino), met in 1962 at the School of Visual Arts in New York and performed in the Greenwich Village folk circuit. Veston Goff "Bunky" Stewart (January 7, 1931 – October 3, 2007) was an American professional baseball player, a pitcher for the Washington Senators between and . He accumulated five wins, eleven losses, and three saves over 72 games pitched. The , left-hander was born in Jasper, Craven County, North Carolina, and attended East Carolina University. Before debuting in the Major League, he played for the New Bern Bears of the Coastal Plain League. He played parts of four more seasons with the Senators, though he only played regularly in (29 games) and 1956 (33 games). In his final season, Stewart pitched 105 innings, winning five games, and saving two. He also hit .250 with 2 RBIs in 28 at bats in '56. After his playing days, he worked in retail and in real estate. Vernice "Bunky" Green (born April 23, 1935) is an American jazz alto saxophonist and educator. Biography Green was raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he played the alto saxophone, mainly at a local club called "The Brass Rail". Green's first break came when he was hired in New York City by Charles Mingus as a replacement for Jackie McLean in the 1950s. His brief stint with the bass player and composer made a deep impression. Mingus' sparing use of notation and his belief that there was no such thing as a wrong note had a lasting influence on Green's own style. Green moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he performed with players such as Sonny Stitt, Louie Bellson, Andrew Hill, Yusef Lateef, and Ira Sullivan. The Fifth is an American hard rock band from Fayetteville, North Carolina, United States. Formed by original members vocalist Roy Cathey, guitarist Dave ”DC” Garcia, bassist Bernie “b-man” Mangiboyat, and drummer Rob Lee. The current members are vocalist Roy Cathey, guitarist Justin Womble, bassist Jake Tripp and drummer Gary "Zeus" Smith.
