PT Bumilangit Entertainment Corpora (Bumilangit) is an Indonesian intellectual property-based entertainment company which has one of the largest comic book character libraries in Asia. Bumilangit maintains a library of more than 1,200 comic characters that have been published over the last sixty years. The Bumilangit Cinematic Universe (BCU) ( id, Jagat Sinema Bumilangit) is a series of Indonesian media franchise and shared universe centered on a series of superhero films produced by Bumilangit Studios based on characters that appear in comic books published by Bumilangit. Volume 1 of the series began with ''Gundala'' in 2019 and will conclude with the release of a team-up film ''Patriot''. Gundala (film)
''Gundala'' is a 2019 Indonesian neo-noir superhero film based on the comics character Gundala created by Harya Suraminata (Hasmi) in 1969. The film was co-produced by Screenplay Films and Bumilangit Studios, and distributed by Legacy Pictures. It is the first installment in the Bumilangit Cinematic Universe (BCU). The film is directed and written by Joko Anwar, and stars Abimana Aryasatya as Sancaka/Gundala, alongside Tara Basro, Bront Palarae, Ario Bayu, Cecep Arif Rahman, Rio Dewanto, and Muzakki Ramdhan. Joko Anwar (born 3 January 1976) is an Indonesian film director, producer, screenwriter, and actor. Prior to becoming a filmmaker, he worked as a journalist and film critic. Webtoon (stylized in all caps) is a South Korean webtoon platform launched in 2004 by Naver Corporation. As the name suggests, it is a platform for posting webtoons, compact digital comics in South Korea. The platform first launched in Korea as Naver Webtoon and then globally as Line Webtoon in July 2014, as the Naver brand is not well known outside of Korea and some of its services are also not available outside of the country.
