The collection includes the cradle he lay in as a child and furniture from his workroom in Copenhagen. The yard around the vicarage includes, among other things, the grave of the horse Vesleblakken from Bull's short story. The yard is maintained by Rendalen Hagelag. The museum is a venue for various cultural events. Every summer, the play ''Morosamme kropper og arme kroker'' based on Bull's works is performed at the museum grounds. Bergset
Bergset is the administrative centre of Rendalen Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The village is located on the western shore of the river Renaelva, about north of the village of Otnes in the largely rural Østerdalen valley. The village has a population (2012) of 243 and a population density of . Bergset was also the administrative centre of the former municipality of Øvre Rendal which is now a part of Rendalen. Øvre Rendal Church, built in 1761, is located in Bergset. The Bull Museum, Rendalen Village Museum in Bergset contains a collection relating to the author Jacob Breda Bull (1853–1930), who was a resident of Rendalen. Jacob Breda Bull
Jacob Breda Bull (28 March 1853 – 7 January 1930) was a Norwegian author, journalist and editor. Biography Jacob Bull was born at Rendalen in Hedmark, Norway. He was the son of parish priest Mathias Bull (1815–1876) and Henriette Margrethe Breda (1817–1887). In May 1876 he graduated with a '' cand.theol.'' degree and received the university title “haud laudibilis” (not without praise). He then served a year as a teacher at Nickelsen's Girls' School in Kristiania (now Oslo). In April 1878 he founded the newspaper ''Dagen'' and subsequently earned his living as a journalist. He served as leader of the Norwegian Authors' Union from 1900 to 1903. His debut novel ''Paa Grænsen'' was published in 1879. Bull is best known as the author of the short story ''Vesleblakken''. The story about the horse named Vesleblakken is based upon a childhood memory from the author's upbringing in Rendalen. The story was first published in ''Skisser'' (1891). Rendalen is a municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Østerdalen. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Bergset. Other villages in the municipality include Hanestad, Otnes, Sjølisand, Unset, Åkre, and Åkrestrømmen. The municipality is the 13th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Rendalen is the 294th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 1,722.
