Bulgarian Olympic Committee
The Bulgarian Olympic Committee ( bg, Български олимпийски комитет, ''Balgarski olimpiyski komitet''; abbreviated as БОК, BOC) is a non-profit organization serving as the National Olympic Committee of Bulgaria and a part of the International Olympic Committee. Ivan Petkov Kolev
Ivan Petkov Kolev ( bg, Иван Петков Колев) (Plovdiv 1 November 1930 – 1 July 2005) was a Bulgarian football player and coach. He represented Bulgaria at both the 1962 FIFA World Cup and the 1966 FIFA World Cup, He also played for the Bulgarian Olympic team and won a bronze medal at the 1956 Summer Olympics. Kolev played for Sportist Sofia from 1945 to 1948, VVS Sofia from 1949 to 1950, CSKA from 1950 to 1967 (304 matches, 90 goals in A PFG) and Sliven in 1967/68 season. He was the first Bulgarian nominated for the Golden Ball. Jim Lewis (footballer, Born 1927)
James Lewis (26 June 1927 – 21 November 2011) was an English footballer. He was one of the most successful amateur footballers of his generation. Biography Lewis, educated at the Monoux School, Walthamstow, began his football career as a 16-year-old with the famous amateur side Walthamstow Avenue (his father had also played for them) and in three stints with the club scored 423 goals in 522 appearances, mainly as a centre forward. He had briefly left Walthamstow in November 1950 to play for Leyton Orient, but after playing as an amateur in 4 League games he rejected their contract terms. Lewis was a key part of the Walthamstow side which reached the FA Cup fourth round in 1953, beating sides such as Stockport County and Watford and drawing 1–1 with Manchester United at Old Trafford, before losing 5–2 in the replay. Bulgaria National Basketball Team
The Bulgaria men's national basketball team ( bg, Български национален отбор по баскетбол, Balgarski natsionalen otbor po basketbol) represents Bulgaria in international basketball. Krum Ivanov Yanev ( bg, Крум Иванов Янев) (9 January 1929 – 24 August 2012) was a Bulgarian footballer who played at both professional and international levels, as a forward. Career Yanev started his career with Spartak Plovdiv. In 1948–49 season he scored four goals in four matches for Lokomotiv Plovdiv and then joined Botev Plovdiv. In 1950 Yanev joined CSKA Sofia. Georgi Naydenov (footballer, Born 1931)
Georgi Spirov Naydenov ( bg, Георги Спиров Найденов) (21 December 1931 – 28 May 1970) was Bulgarian football goalkeeper and manager. He is considered the greatest Bulgarian goalkeeper of all time. Between 1955 and 1965 he played in 176 matches for CSKA Sofia. He was honoured as Bulgarian Footballer of the Year in 1961. Naydenov won the top Bulgarian league, the A PFG, 8 times (all with CSKA), as well as the Bulgarian Cup, 3 times (all with CSKA). He was respected for his incredible work ethic and his determination during training and matches alike. International career For the Bulgaria national football team Naydenov featured in 51 games and won a bronze medal at the 1956 Summer Olympics. He played for his country at the 1962 and 1966 World Cups. Even after he had retired from competing he still remained one of the fittest players in Bulgaria and this made his death all the more mysterious.
