Sındırgı, formerly Koruköy and Carseae ( grc, Κάρσεαι), is a town and district of Balıkesir Province in the Marmara region of Turkey. The population is 33.753 (as of 2017). The mayor is Ekrem Yavaş ( AKP). A carpet festival is held in Sındırgı town in every fall season around September, and it is called International Yağcıbedir Festival. Balıkesir Province ( tr, ) is a province in northwestern Turkey with coastlines on both the Sea of Marmara and the Aegean Sea, Aegean. Its adjacent provinces are Çanakkale Province, Çanakkale to the west, İzmir Province, İzmir to the southwest, Manisa Province, Manisa to the south, Kütahya Province, Kütahya to the southeast, and Bursa Province, Bursa to the east.
