Bukrin Bend
Velykyi Bukryn ( uk, Великий Букрин; russian: Великий Букрин) is a village in Obukhiv Raion at the south of Kyiv Oblast, Ukraine, with about 100 inhabitants (2001). It belongs to Rzhyshchiv urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The village, founded in 1600, belongs administratively to the 39.3 km2 district council ''Malyi Bukryn'' (Малий Букрин). The village is located on the border with Cherkasy Oblast on a peninsula in the Dnieper, which is dammed up to Kaniv reservoir, 5 km north of Malyi Bukryn community center, about 50 km northeast of the city of Myronivka and about 120 km south of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. Kyiv Oblast ( uk, Ки́ївська о́бласть, translit=Kyïvska oblast), also called Kyivshchyna ( uk, Ки́ївщина), is an oblast (province) in central and northern Ukraine. The Battle of the Dnieper was a military campaign that took place in 1943 in Ukraine on the Eastern Front of World War II. One of the largest operations of the war, it involved almost 4,000,000 troops at a time stretched on a front.
