Bukit Canberra
Bukit Canberra ( Chinese: 武吉坎贝拉; pinyin: ''Wǔ Jí Kǎn Bèi Lā'') is an integrated sports and community hub next to Sembawang MRT station. The hub houses facilities including an indoor sports hall, the largest ActiveSG gym in Singapore, a six-lane sheltered swimming pool, and an eight-lane lap pool. There will also be 3 km of running trails, of various difficulties, passing throughout the development. It also houses a polyclinic, a senior care centre, and a hawker centre. History First announced in July 2016, it was modelled after Our Tampines Hub. Construction started in 2018 and was originally scheduled to be completed fully by Q4 2020 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The development was previously part of the demolished Chong Pang Village, which housed a wet market and hawker centre before the 1980s. Sembawang
Sembawang is a planning area and residential town located in the North Region of Singapore. Sembawang planning area is bordered by Simpang to the east, Mandai to the south, Yishun to the southeast, Woodlands to the west and the Straits of Johor to the north. Despite the relatively large development in the Sembawang New Town, the area remains largely suburban, with military, industrial and recreational facilities at its periphery. It hosted a major naval base and port facilities since the early 20th century, and continues to handle regular shipping traffic today along its wharves. Pinyin
Hanyu Pinyin (), often shortened to just pinyin, is the official romanization system for Standard Mandarin Chinese in China, and to some extent, in Singapore and Malaysia. It is often used to teach Mandarin, normally written in Chinese form, to learners already familiar with the Latin alphabet. The system includes four diacritics denoting tones, but pinyin without tone marks is used to spell Chinese names and words in languages written in the Latin script, and is also used in certain computer input methods to enter Chinese characters. Sembawang MRT Station
Sembawang MRT station is an elevated Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the North-South line (NSL). Located in Sembawang, Singapore along Sembawang Road, the station is close to the Sun Plaza shopping centre and Sembawang Bus Interchange. The station is operated by SMRT Trains. Originally planned to be built later than the other stations of the Woodlands extension, the station's construction was brought forward when plans were revised in November 1992. Completed along with the other Woodlands extension stations on 10 February 1996, Sembawang station has the most number of bicycle stands for cyclists working at Sembawang Shipyard. Mothership.sg is an online news website that operates in Singapore. It was founded in August 2013 and officially launched in February 2014. History Mothership.sg begun with Lien We King, a finance executive, proposing an online platform for young Singaporeans to Martino Tan, a social media manager for Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in 2012. Together with Belmont Lay, a co-founder of ''New Nation'', a Singapore online satirical news website, the trio experimented with producing content for the website, with inspirations from the style of BuzzFeed publication.
