Bujgan District
Bujgan District ( fa, بخش بوژگان) is a district (bakhsh) in Torbat-e Jam County, Razavi Khorasan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 18,400, in 3,916 families. The District has two cities: Nilshahr & Ahmadabad-e Sowlat. The District has two rural districts (''dehestan''): Dasht-e Jam Rural District and Harirud Rural District. Bakhsh
A ( fa, بخش, also romanized as ) is a third-level administrative division of Iran. While sometimes translated as "county," it is more accurately translated as "district," similar to a township in the United States or a district of England. Torbat-e Jam County ( fa, شهرستان تربت جام) is in Razavi Khorasan province, Iran. The capital of the county is the city of Torbat-e Jam. Abu Al-Wafa' Buzjani
Abū al-Wafāʾ, Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā ibn Ismāʿīl ibn al-ʿAbbās al-Būzjānī or Abū al-Wafā Būzhjānī ( fa, ابوالوفا بوزجانی or بوژگانی) (10 June 940 – 15 July 998) was a Persian mathematician and astronomer who worked in Baghdad. He made important innovations in spherical trigonometry, and his work on arithmetics for businessmen contains the first instance of using negative numbers in a medieval Islamic text. He is also credited with compiling the tables of sines and tangents at 15 ' intervals. He also introduced the secant and cosecant functions, as well studied the interrelations between the six trigonometric lines associated with an arc. His ''Almagest'' was widely read by medieval Arabic astronomers in the centuries after his death. He is known to have written several other books that have not survived.
