Builth Wells Rugby Football Club is a Rugby union in Wales, Welsh rugby union team based in Builth Wells. Today, Builth Wells RFC play in the Welsh Rugby Union, Division Two West Central League. Builth Wells RFC are a feeder club for Cardiff Blues. The club badge shows a bull charging beneath a rugby post. Builth is thought to be a corruption of Llanfair Ym Muallt (buallt), meaning the Church of St. Mary in the Cow Pasture. The original bull was white. Builth Wells
Builth Wells (; cy, Llanfair-ym-Muallt) is a market town and community in the county of Powys and historic county of Brecknockshire (Breconshire), mid Wales, lying at the confluence of rivers Wye and Irfon, in the Welsh (or upper) part of the Wye Valley. In 2011 it had a population of 2,568. Etymology ''Builth'' is a longstanding anglicization of the Old Welsh ''Buellt/Buallt'', which combines ''bu'' () " ox" and ''gellt'' (later ''gwellt'') " lea or leas". Jeremy Pugh
Jeremy David Pugh (born 4 March 1960) is a former international rugby union player. He played for the Wales national rugby union team in the late 1980s. Pugh played his club rugby for Neath. He first played for Wales in 1987 against the USA. Altogether he won three caps. He played his last international match against Scotland on 3 March 1990. In 2006 Pugh was one of three former international rugby players to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for the NSPCC. Mark Jones (rugby Player Born 1979)
Mark Anthony Jones (born 7 November 1979 in Builth Wells, Powys) is a Welsh rugby union coach and former player who played on the wing for the Scarlets and Wales. Since making his international debut for Wales, he won 47 caps and scored 13 tries. He is currently a coach at New Zealand sides Crusaders and Canterbury. Early life As a youngster, as well as playing rugby, Jones was also a sprinter and once competed against future World Junior Athletics champion Christian Malcolm in a 100 metres final; Jones said his performance against Malcolm was the reason he gave up athletics for a career in rugby. He began his domestic career at Builth Wells Youth before joining the senior side. He was signed by Llandovery from Builth and in his first season of senior rugby was the highest try scorer in the Welsh League.
