Buffalo Stallions
The Buffalo Stallions were a soccer team based out of Buffalo, New York, that played in the Major Indoor Soccer League from 1979 to 1984. Their home arena was Buffalo Memorial Auditorium. It was the last professional club for which the Portuguese legend and FIFA 100 forward Eusébio played, in 1979–1980. The games were broadcast on radio for at least two seasons. Veteran Buffalo sportscaster Van Miller called the play by play the first season on 104.1 FM, then WACJ. Jim Lane called the shots in the second season. Lajos Kű
Lajos Kű (born 5 July 1948) is a Hungarian former footballer who played as a midfielder for Videoton, Ferencvárosi TC, Club Brugge and SC Eisenstadt. In his second game for Club Brugge, he played in the 1978 European Cup Final against Liverpool. He won a silver medal in football at the 1972 Summer Olympics, and also participated in UEFA Euro 1972 for the Hungary national team. After having spent 15 years abroad, he returned to Hungary in the early 1990s, working as a businessman. Germain Iglesias
Germain Iglesias is a retired Peruvian soccer midfielder who played professionally in the North American Soccer League, Major Indoor Soccer League and Western Soccer Alliance. While born in Peru, Iglesias grew up in Paterson, New Jersey. He attended Paterson Catholic High School where he set the Passaic County high school single season scoring record with 42 goals. He then attended St. Francis College and played amateur soccer with the Brooklyn Dodgers S.C. of the Cosmopolitan Soccer League. In 1979, the Dodgers won the National Challenge Cup. Ian Anderson (11 September 1954 – 5 November 2008) was a Scottish professional Association football, football defender (football), defender who spent most of his career playing in the United States. Anderson began his professional career with Dundee F.C., Dundee when he was sixteen, his debut with the first team coming in August 1972. He moved to St Johnstone F.C., St Johnstone in December 1975. The New York Arrows were an indoor soccer team that played in the original Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) from 1978 to 1984. They won the first four MISL championships. History Preparing for the first season In 1978, the New York Arrows began their first season as an indoor soccer team in the newly-established Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL). They were owned by Bernie Rodin, and John Luciani who also owned the Rochester Lancers of the North American Soccer League. While preparing for the MISL's inaugural season, the Arrows' imported nearly the entire roster of the Lancers, which played a spring-to-fall schedule.
