''Buenas noches, Buenos Aires'' is a 1964 Argentine musical film comedy directed by and starring Hugo del Carril. The film was premièred in Buenos Aires on October 10, 1964. Organized by Del Carril, the film reminisces over the culture of tango films that dominated the Cinema of Argentina in the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, and united tango actors such as Hugo del Carril, Tito Lusiardo and Virginia Luque and Roberto Escalada as well as starring new actors such as Palito Ortega. Hugo Del Carril
Pierre Bruno Hugo Fontana, otherwise known as Hugo del Carril (30 November 1912 – 13 August 1989 in Buenos Aires), was an Argentine film actor, film director and tango singer of the classic era. Early life Born in Buenos Aires, del Carril was the son of parents of a rich economic position, his mother Orsolina Bertani was born in Argentina (daughter of the Italian Anarchist Orsini Bertani), but his father Hugo Fontana was an Italian architect, born in Milan. But in spite of the comforts and the comfortable life they led, his parents separated and young Hugo was left in the charge of a family friend. Career Del Carril originally began as a popular personality on Argentine radio, and parlayed that into a film career that began in late 1936. He was an immediate hit, and developed into one of Argentina's major film stars. Argentine tango is a musical genre and accompanying social dance originating at the end of the 19th century in the suburbs of Buenos Aires. Aníbal Troilo
Aníbal Carmelo Troilo (11 July 1914 – 18 May 1975), also known as Pichuco, was an Argentine tango musician. Troilo was a bandoneon player, composer, arranger, and bandleader in Argentina. His orquesta típica was among the most popular with social dancers during the golden age of tango (1940–1955), but he changed to a concert sound by the late 1950s. Troilo's orchestra is best known for its instrumentals, though he also recorded with many well-known vocalists such as Roberto Goyeneche, Edmundo Rivero and . Julio Sosa
Julio María Sosa Venturini (February 2, 1926 – November 26, 1964), usually referred to simply as Julio Sosa or El Varón del Tango, was a Uruguayan/Argentinian tango singer. Biography Sosa was born in Las Piedras, a Canelones Department suburb of Montevideo, Uruguay. He moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1949, where he became famous with the Orquesta Francini-Pontier the Orquesta típica formed by the violinist Enrique Mario Francini and the bandoneonist Armando Pontier . Working with numerous other orchestras, he was reunited with Pontier in 1955, with whom he recorded several best-selling albums on the RCA Victor and Columbia labels and became one of the most important tango singers in the genre's history. He married Nora Ulfed in 1958 and had a daughter. His marriage ended in separation, however, and he settled into a relationship with Susana Merighi. Ana María Francisca Adinolfi (stage name, Violeta Rivas; 4 October 1937 – 23 June 2018) was an Argentine singer and actress, known for participating in the music program ''El Club del Clan'', along with Palito Ortega, Raúl Lavié, Johnny Tedesco and Chico Novarro. Biography Rivas was born in Chivilcoy, Buenos Aires Province, in 1937. At the age of five, she participated in a contest in Chivilcoy singing the songs of Clavito Chino and Los Gitanos. A year later, she was chosen by her school to sing in the choir of the Postal Savings Bank. She subsequently studied lyrical singing. Rivas married Néstor Fabián and they had a daughter. Pedro Rico Cutillas, better known as Pedrito Rico (7 September 1932, in Elda, Alicante – 21 June 1988, in Barcelona) was a Spanish singer, dancer and actor who spent most of his career in Argentina. Biography In 1955 he debuted at the Ruzafa Theater in Valencia, then moved to the Price Theater in Madrid.
