Budgie The Little Helicopter
''Budgie the Little Helicopter'' is a British animated television series, relating to a fictional helicopter and his friends, based on a series of children's books. The characters were based on the books by Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York. The show was coproduced by Fred Wolf Films Dublin, The Sleepy Kids Company and Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York for ITV Wales & West and Scottish Television Enterprises, and originally aired on British television in 1994 on CITV, where it ran for 39 episodes. A range of videos, books, and toys were released under the ''Budgie'' label. The show aired in the United States on FOX as part of the '' Fox Cubhouse'' programming block from 1995 to 1996, and moved to the Fox Family Channel in 1998 as part of ''It's Itsy Bitsy Time''. Fred Wolf (animator)
Fred Wolf (born September 13, 1932) is an American animator. His works include the 1967 short subject '' The Box'', for which he won an Academy Award; television specials such as ''The Point!'' and '' Free to Be...You and Me'', and television series such as ''Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'', ''James Bond Jr.'', and Sarah Ferguson’s ''Budgie the Little Helicopter''. Wolf was also responsible for the famous Tootsie Pops “How Many Licks” commercial. In the 1960s, Wolf set up a studio in Hollywood, California with Japanese-American animator Jimmy T. Brian Trueman (born 16 May 1932) is an English broadcaster, writer and voice actor. He is known mainly for his work with the animation studio Cosgrove Hall. He wrote and/or narrated children's cartoon series, mostly during the 1970s and 1980s. Career Trueman's cartoons were originally shown on ITV, in its CITV programming slot. However, he also presented the BBC's children's film quiz ''Screen Test'', taking over from original host Michael Rodd between 1979 and 1983.
