Bud Dry
Bud Dry was a beer brewed by Anheuser-Busch in the United States and was a member of the Budweiser family of beers. It was introduced nationally in the U.S. in April 1990 with the slogan of "Why ask why? Try Bud Dry." It was originally successful in test markets and was expected to be a popular beer with the rise in Light Lager popularity. Bud Dry was brewed using Anheuser-Busch's DryBrew process, originally developed under the leadership of August A. Busch. The process also resulted in the creation of the similar, now-defunct, Michelob Dry. Bud Dry was originally one of the three premier brands in the Budweiser family, commonly marketed alongside Budweiser and Bud Light. It had an appearance in the 1991 Bud Bowl III as the starting quarterback and "Top Draft Choice" for Bud Light. Pale Lager
Pale lager is a very pale-to-golden-colored lager beer with a well- attenuated body and a varying degree of noble hop bitterness. The brewing process for this beer developed in the mid-19th century, when Gabriel Sedlmayr took pale ale brewing and malt making techniques back to the Spaten Brewery in Germany and applied them to existing lagering methods, resulting in a less dark, red-colored beer. This technique was applied by Josef Groll, the famous Bavarian brewmaster, hired by Měšťanský pivovar in the city of Pilsen, Bohemia, Austria-Hungary (now Czech Republic) with local ingredients, resulting in the first pale lager Pilsner Urquell in 1842. Budweiser
Budweiser () is an American-style pale lager, part of AB InBev. Introduced in 1876 by Carl Conrad & Co. of St. Louis, Missouri, Budweiser has become a large selling beer company in the United States. ''Budweiser'' may also refer to an unrelated pale lager beer, originating in České Budějovice, Czech Republic (in German, ) produced by the Budějovický Budvar brewery. There have been multiple trademark disputes between the two companies. Usually, either Anheuser-Busch or Budějovický Budvar are granted the exclusive use of the ''Budweiser'' name in a given market. The Bud Bowl was a stop motion animated Super Bowl advertising campaign first aired in 1989, and sporadically during the 1990s. It served as an advertisement for Anheuser-Busch's Budweiser family of beers. It featured anthropomorphized Budweiser bottles playing a football game against Bud Light bottles. History Bud Bowl I was aired in 1989 during the telecast of Super Bowl XXIII. It was originally created in the D'arcy Masius Benton & Bowles Account Service Dept by Tom Gooch and Rich Lalley who were looking for a way to strategically be involved with the Super Bowl. David Henke and Bill Oakley of D'arcy Masius Benton & Bowles were the creative team behind the original Bud Bowl.
