Adrian Charles Buckmaster, 4th Viscount Buckmaster (born 2 February 1949) is a British peer and businessman. Early life The son of the Hon Colin John Buckmaster, a son of the 2nd Viscount, by his marriage to May Gibbon, Buckmaster was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, and Clare College, Cambridge, graduating in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and proceeding to Master of Arts in 1974. Career Buckmaster has been Chief Executive Officer of Avecia Group PLC since October 2005 and also serves as Chief Executive Officer of Automotive Products Group Ltd. Charles Buckmaster
Charles Buckmaster (1950–1972) was an Australian poet. He was involved in the publication of ''The Great Auk''. During his lifetime, he published two volumes of poetry, both reprinted after his death by the University of Queensland Press collection. While his output was not prolific, his poems have been included in many poetry anthologies. His early death placed him with Michael Dransfield, another short lived poet of the era. Elliott Buckmaster
Elliott Buckmaster (October 19, 1889 – October 10, 1976) was a United States Navy officer, later promoted to flag rank, and naval aviator during World War I and World War II. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Dr. Augustus Harper Buckmaster (1859–1941) and the former Helen Gardner Elliott Masters (1858–1910), Buckmaster was raised in Charlottesville, Virginia, from the age of twelve. Appointed from Virginia to the United States Naval Academy in 1908, Buckmaster graduated with the Class of 1912. Assigned to the USS ''New Jersey'' at the occupation of Veracruz in 1914, Buckmaster was credited with rescuing a wounded sailor and bringing him to safety. Buckmaster was promoted through the ranks until 1934 when, with the rank of commander, he would commission USS ''Farragut'' as her first commanding officer. Ernest Buckmaster
Ernest William Buckmaster (1897–1968) was an Australian artist born in Victoria. He won the Archibald Prize in 1932 with a portrait of Sir William Irvine. He also served as an Australian war artist during World War II. Life and career Buckmaster was born in the Melbourne suburb of Hawthorn on 3 July 1897. He was the eldest son of Harry Amos Buckmaster, straw-hat manufacturer, and his wife Letitia Martha née' Chandler. He attended a state primary school at Box Hill where he showed drawing skills at an early age. Buckmaster was apprenticed to a signwriter in 1913. His poor physique made him unsuitable for service in World War I. His employer, an amateur painter, suggested he undertake art training. Henrietta Delancey Henkle, (10 March 1909 – 26 April 1983) better known by her pen name Henrietta Buckmaster, was an activist, journalist, and author best known for writing historical studies and novels. She was also active in the civil rights movement. Biography Buckmaster was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1909 to editor Rae D. Henkle and Pearl (Wintermute) Henkle and grew up in New York city. She attended Friends Seminary and the Brearley School. Buckmaster became a journalist and author focusing on historical books and novels, as well as being a book reviewer for some time. A major theme of her books was human freedom, and her subjects were often American slaves and women. In 1944 she was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship, for which she received a sponsorship from W.E.B. (born John Richbourg, August 20, 1910 - February 15, 1986) was an American radio disc jockey who attained fame in the 1950s and 1960s for playing rhythm and blues music on Nashville radio station WLAC. He was also a notable record producer and artist manager. Richbourg was arguably the most popular and charismatic of the four announcers at WLAC who showcased popular African-American music in nightly programs from the late 1940s to the early 1970s. Martin Stanley Buckmaster, 3rd Viscount Buckmaster (11 April 1921 – 8 June 2007) was a British diplomat. He sat on the crossbenches in the House of Lords from 1974. Buckmaster was the elder son of Owen Buckmaster, 2nd Viscount Buckmaster, a barrister and Lloyd's underwriter, and his first wife, Joan Simpson. His grandfather was Stanley Buckmaster, 1st Viscount Buckmaster, a barrister and Liberal MP who served as Solicitor General for England and Wales from 1913 to 1915 and was created 1st Viscount Buckmaster in 1915 when he became Lord Chancellor. Colonel Maurice James Buckmaster (11 January 1902 – 17 April 1992) was the leader of the French section of Special Operations Executive and was awarded the ''Croix de Guerre''. Apart from his war service, he was a corporate manager with the French branch of the Ford Motor Company, in the postwar years serving in Dagenham. Stanley Owen Buckmaster, 1st Viscount Buckmaster, (9 January 1861 – 5 December 1934) was a British lawyer and Liberal Party politician. He was a Member of Parliament (MP) for most of the years from 1906 to 1915, when he was elevated to the peerage and served as Lord Chancellor under H. H. Asquith from 1915 to 1916.
