Buck Trent
Charles Wilburn "Buck" Trent (born February 17, 1938) is an American country music instrumentalist currently performing in Branson, Missouri. He invented the electric banjo and also plays the five-string banjo, dobro, steel guitar, mandolin, electric bass and guitar. Biography Born and raised in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Trent was performing on radio stations WORD and WSPA in Spartansburg by age 11. He traveled to California and Texas, finally arriving in Nashville in 1959 where he joined the Bill Carlisle Show and first appeared on the ''Grand Ole Opry''. He was a member of Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys from 1960-1961, Porter Wagoner's "Wagon Masters" from 1962 to 1973, and also appeared on the ''Roy Clark Show'' and ''Hee Haw'' from 1974 to 1982. WOLI (910 Hertz, kHz) is a Regional Mexican AM radio, AM radio station located in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The station is licensed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to broadcast with power of 3,600 watts in the daytime and 890 watts at night under separate directional signal patterns. History WSPA 950 AM signed on the air on February 17, 1930 as South Carolina's first radio station, beating out WSPO, WCSC/Charleston, South Carolina, Charleston and WVOC, WIS/Columbia, South Carolina, Columbia by several months. ''Nashville Now'' was an American talk show that focused on country music performers in the style of ''The Tonight Show''. The show aired live on weeknights on TNN from 1983–1993. The host was Nashville TV/radio personality Ralph Emery. The show was nominated for an ACE Award in 1987 for Music Series. Emery's sidekick was Shotgun Red, a puppet performed by Steve Hall. ''Dinah!'' is a daytime variety talk show that was hosted by singer and actress Dinah Shore. The series was distributed by 20th Century Fox Television and premiered on October 21, 1974, in syndication. In 1979, the show became known as ''Dinah and Friends'' and remained so until it ended its run in 1980. The show's announcer was Johnny Gilbert. John Marty Stuart (born September 30, 1958) is an American country and bluegrass music singer, songwriter, and musician. Active since 1968, Stuart initially toured with Lester Flatt, and then in Johnny Cash's road band before beginning work as a solo artist in the early 1980s. ''Hee Haw'' is an American television variety show featuring country music and humor with the fictional rural "Kornfield Kounty" as the backdrop.
