Buchpora
Buchpora is a town on the outskirts of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is situated on Srinagar-Leh Highway on the eastern side of Anchar Lake. The postal code of the area is 190020. The area is about north from Lal Chowk. Most of the current inhabitants of the area are migrants from Downtown Srinagar. During the project of widening the roads in Downtown, numerous houses obstructing the widening of roads were shattered down. 90 Feet Road
90 Feet Road is the southern segment of the Srinagar-Leh Highway ( National Highway 1D), which connects Srinagar with Ladakh. The 90 Feet Road begins in Soura, Srinagar, about 11.1 km north of the commercial centre of Lal Chowk. It extends north for and ends at Pandach, Ganderbal. Thereafter, NH 1D turns eastward toward Leh. Its name reflects the fact that it is wide throughout. Locals call it Nammath, which is "ninety" in the Kashmiri language. History The road was built in the early 21st century by clearing the existing clay dunes. It is considered one of the most prestigious roads in the city. Soura
Soura, () known as Sovur () in Kashmiri, is a notified area in Srinagar district of the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is located about 9 km north of Lal Chowk, Srinagar on Srinagar-Ladakh Highway in Jammu and Kashmir, India. Soura is noted for Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, a multi-specialty hospital. Besides serving as a hospital, it is the medical deemed university of Kashmir valley. Downtown, popularly known as ''Shahar-e-Khaas'', is the largest and the most densely populated area of the city of Srinagar in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Lal Chowk
Lal Chowk () is a city square in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. The square was given its name by left-wing activists who were inspired by the Russian Revolution as they fought the princely state's Maharaja, Hari Singh. It has traditionally served as a place for political meetings, with Jawaharlal Nehru and Sheikh Abdullah (the first prime ministers of India and Jammu and Kashmir, respectively) as well as other prominent political leaders having addressed people from it. Anchar Lake
Anchar Lake is a lake located near Soura area, near the city of Srinagar in Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Situated close to Ganderbal, the lake is connected with the famous Dal Lake via a channel "Amir Khan Nallah" which passes through Gilsar and Khushal Sar. The lake is in a highly deteriorated condition. In case of flooding, the excessive water of Dal is diverted here. Deterioration Once a popular tourist destination as tourists on shikaras and houseboats used to travel here from Dal Lake, over the years it has deteriorated owing to pollution, large scale encroachment, and illegal constructions in its surroundings. National Highway 1 (NH 1) in India runs between the States and territories of India, union territories of Jammu and Kashmir (union territory), Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
