Brücken, Birkenfeld
Brücken is an ''Ortsgemeinde'' – a municipality belonging to a ''Verbandsgemeinde'', a kind of collective municipality – in the Birkenfeld district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It belongs to the ''Verbandsgemeinde'' of Birkenfeld, whose seat is in the like-named town. Geography Location The municipality lies on the Traunbach in the ''Schwarzwälder Hochwald'' (forest) in the Hunsrück. The municipal area is 62.3% wooded. Within Brücken's limits, on the Friedrichskopf, rises the Allbach, whose upper reaches bear the name ''Königsbach''. Six kilometres to the west of Brücken lies the Saarland. Together with the outlying centre of Traunen, which was merged with the municipality in 1934, the population is almost 1,300. Brücken (Pfalz) is an ''Ortsgemeinde'' – a municipality belonging to a ''Verbandsgemeinde'', a kind of collective municipality – in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It belongs to the ''Verbandsgemeinde'' of Oberes Glantal, whose seat is in Schönenberg-Kübelberg. Geography Location The municipality lies in the Ohmbach valley in the Western Palatinate. Near the village, the Ohmbach turns from its southerly direction of flow to a more southeasterly one where the valley floor also broadens out. Here it has an elevation of some 240 m above sea level, whereas the higher residential areas reach almost 300 m above sea level. The higher elevations within municipal limits, meanwhile, reach heights of some 380 m in the northeast and 320 m in the southeast. Brücken, Saxony-Anhalt
Brücken is a village and a former municipality in the Mansfeld-Südharz district, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 January 2009, it is part of the municipality Brücken-Hackpfüffel. History Brücken was referenced in a document at Hersfeld Abbey as ''Trizzebruccun'' at the start of the 9th Century. The settlement of Brücken was awarded a town charter in 1518 by Kaiser Maximilian I, however this was withdrawn in the following centuries. Brücken was occupied by US troops in April 1945, which were relieved by the Red Army in July of the same year. Claudia Brücken
Claudia Brücken (born 7 December 1963) is a German singer and songwriter. She is best known as the lead vocalist of the synth-pop band Propaganda. In 1996, Brücken started working with Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark co-founder Paul Humphreys, first without a name, and from 2004 as Onetwo. In March 2013, Brücken and Humphreys ceased working and living together, and she has subsequently returned to pursuing her solo career. Early career At age 14, Brücken joined her first band, Haarsträubend. Her second band was the all-female ''The Tripolinas'' together with Susanne Freytag, who also became a member of the band Propaganda.
