Brønnøysund Register Centre
Brønnøysund Register Centre (Norwegian Bokmål: Brønnøysundregistrene; formal name Registerenheten i Brønnøysund, Norwegian Nynorsk: Brønnøysundregistra) is a Norwegian government agency that is responsible for the management of numerous public registers for Norway, and governmental systems for digital exchange of information. The agency maintains the Norwegian metadata repository SERES and ELMER, a standard for the design of web forms. The register gets its name from the town Brønnøysund in Nordland where it is located. Most of the registers are related to commerce, but also personal registers are conducted by Brønnøysund. The register is part of the European Business Register and is led by Lars Peder Brekk. The registry is a subsidiary of the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry. European Business Register
The European Business Register Network (EBR Network) is a network of trade registers kept by the registration authorities of several European countries, managed by the European Business Registry Association. The EBR was developed as a part of the fully integrated approach of the European Commission in the legislation designed to achieve regulations to promote transparent financial markets and to facilitate free movement of companies. The EBR has served as a starting point of the Business Register Interoperability Throughout Europe (BRITE) project which developed an interoperability solution BRIS for Business Registers to interact across the European Union. BRIS makes it possible to obtain comparable, official company information from the countries connected to the network. Brønnøy
Brønnøy is a municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is part of the Helgeland region. The administrative centre and commercial centre of the municipality is the town of Brønnøysund. A secondary centre is the village of Hommelstø. Other villages include Tosbotn, Lande, Trælnes, and Indreskomo. The Brønnøysund Register Centre is an important employer in Brønnøy. The Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) is a voluntary environmental management instrument, which was developed in 1993 by the European Commission. It enables organizations to assess, manage and continuously improve their environmental performance. The scheme is globally applicable and open to all types of private and public organizations. Lars Peder Brekk
Lars Peder Brekk (born 8 October 1955) is a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party. He was private secretary to the Minister of Fisheries 1985-1986, and himself Minister of Fisheries in 2000. He was elected to parliament in 2005 and served as Minister of Agriculture and Food from 2008 to 2012. He was acting leader of the Centre Party from June to September 2008. Biography Brekk was born and grew up in Vikna of accountant and manager Asbjørn L. Brekk (1926–) and bookkeeper Ragnhild Kirkeby-Garstad (1935–). Aged 15, he joined the Centre Youth. He has a master of economics from the University of Oslo, studying from 1977 to 1982. He was also a football goalkeeper, playing for Stabæk from 1979 to 1981. Brønnøysund () is a List of towns and cities in Norway, town and the administrative centre of Brønnøy Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is also a List of former municipalities of Norway, former municipality within Nordland county. The village of Brønnøysund originally was declared a ladested in 1923 which made it an independent municipality. After merging with Brønnøy in 1964, it lost its town status.
