Bryson Stott
Bryson Jeremy Stott (born October 6, 1997) is an American professional baseball shortstop for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played college baseball at UNLV, and was selected by the Phillies in the first round of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft. He made his MLB debut in 2022. Amateur career Stott attended Desert Oasis High School in Enterprise, Nevada. He committed to University of Las Vegas (UNLV) to play college baseball. Both of Stott's parents attended UNLV and Stott's father played quarterback for the school's football team. As a freshman at UNLV, Stott started all 54 games at shortstop, hitting .294/.359/.379 with one home run and 29 runs batted in (RBIs). Shortstop
Shortstop, abbreviated SS, is the baseball or softball fielding position between second and third base, which is considered to be among the most demanding defensive positions. Historically the position was assigned to defensive specialists who were typically poor at batting and were often placed at the bottom of the batting order. Today, shortstops are often able to hit well and many are placed at the top of the lineup. In the numbering system used by scorers to record defensive plays, the shortstop is assigned the number 6. More hit balls go to the shortstop than to any other position, as there are more right-handed hitters in baseball than left-handed hitters, and most hitters have a tendency to pull the ball slightly. The Florida Complex League Phillies are a Rookie-level affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, competing in the Florida Complex League of Minor League Baseball. Prior to 2021, the team was known as the Gulf Coast League Phillies. The team plays its home games at the Carpenter Complex, in Clearwater, Florida. The team is composed mainly of players who are in their first year of professional baseball as either draftees or non-drafted free agents from the United States, Canada, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and various other countries. United States National Baseball Team
The United States national baseball team represents the United States in international-level baseball competitions. The team is currently ranked 5th in the world by the World Baseball Softball Confederation. Team USA won the Olympic baseball tournament in 2000, and the World Baseball Classic (WBC) in 2017. Wareham Gatemen
The Wareham Gatemen are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Wareham, Massachusetts. The team is a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and plays in the league's West Division. The Gatemen play their home games at Clem Spillane Field in Wareham.
