Bryn Roy
Bryn Roy (born April 14, 1988 in Dalemead, Alberta) is a Canadian football linebacker who is currently a member of the Edmonton Eskimos. He was most recently a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. He was drafted 34th overall by the Alouettes in the 2012 CFL Draft and was signed on May 24, 2012. He played college football with the Texas A&M–Commerce Lions. Early life Roy was born and raised in Dalemead, Alberta, the son of Mark and Audi Roy. His father was a World Champion Steer Wrestler. Bryn competed in the Team Roping as a teenager and young adult. However, he quickly transitioned into a football player where he was a three-year letterwinner at safety and wide receiver at Foothills Composite High School. He was named team MVP and regional MVP as a senior and was a three-time all-region selection and All-Province selection at safety. Texas A&M University–Commerce is a public university in Commerce, Texas. Snow College
Snow College is a public community college in Ephraim, Utah. It offers certificates and associate degrees in a number of areas, along with bachelor's degrees in music and software engineering and a four-year nursing program. Snow College is part of the Utah System of Higher Education. History Founded in 1888 by local citizens as Sanpete Stake Academy, the school was later renamed Snow Academy to honor Lorenzo Snow and Erastus Snow, distant cousins who were leaders in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). The initial school was built entirely with local donations, including “Sunday Eggs” (the proceeds from the sales of all eggs laid on Sunday). Team Roping
Team roping also known as heading and heeling is a rodeo event that features a steer (typically a Corriente) and two mounted riders. The first roper is referred to as the "header", the person who ropes the front of the steer, usually around the horns, but it is also legal for the rope to go around the neck, or go around one horn and the nose resulting in what they call a "half head". Once the steer is caught by one of the three legal head catches, the header must dally (wrap the rope around the rubber covered saddle horn) and use his horse to turn the steer to the left. The second roper is the "heeler", who ropes the steer by its hind feet after the "header" has turned the steer, with a five-second penalty assessed to the end time if only one leg is caught. Dalemead is a hamlet in southern Alberta under the jurisdiction of Rocky View County. It is approximately 35 km (21 mi) southeast of Downtown Calgary and 3.2 km (2.0 mi) south of Highway 22X along a Canadian Pacific Railway line. 2012 CFL Draft
The 2012 CFL Draft took place on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 3:00 PM ET on TSN. 45 players were chosen from among eligible players from Canadian Universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA. The Calgary Stampeders had the most selections with eight, while Hamilton had seven picks. The Toronto Argonauts and Montreal Alouettes each had six and the Edmonton Eskimos and Winnipeg Blue Bombers had five picks. The defending Grey Cup champion BC Lions and the Saskatchewan Roughriders had the fewest selections with just four. A total of three trades involving 11 draft picks in this draft were made on the draft day itself.
